  1. What were the coaches branded with at the time? was it 'Inter-City'? I gather Class 25s or 37s were common substitutes on those push-pull workings, maybe you could hang one of them on the back instead of another 27!
  2. Is that fuelling point on both sides? the far away line looks electrified Wolverhampton Oxley https://www.flickr.com/photos/56394872@N06/5413804775/in/photolist-xhy3z1-9fpaxD-Fz4cEU-JVZGcM-7YepKo-7YaAaZ-7YaJup-ejwDPR-aCiAN4-7YavGM-8s9vnw-eYgd3o-5suiCc-5nNGwa-5syQb1-5syNdw-7QaKkq-99Tg93-atENm6-787Pge
  3. I'm pretty sure Willesden had a diesel fueling point for Class 08s and 25s just outside the depot building ... and it was an electrified line into the depot
  4. It says in stock and ready for delivery. I think they must be customised perhaps with commissioned tankers to follow. £56 though? errr no I'll pass
  5. I'd be amazed if its not a select
  6. are the DBSOs priced at the same level? I'd assume the lighting functions for them would be a bit more complex with the head and tail lights, but £75 is steep!!
  7. Ahh I thought you meant a little 2F steam loco!! £75 is a lot for a coach, DCC or not
  8. With so little progress visible it does look like more of a land-grab than anything else. Although to their benefit it will have avoided the duplication of a competing model. £75 doesn't sound bad if DCC fitted - £15 for the decoder, £60ish for the loco. Lots of small locos are nudging £100 now
  9. I find it odd how long the Bachmann Class 90 is taking - I dont even think we've seen any CAD drawings yet. Its hardly a long-extinct class where they cant find drawings or reference material Are there all that many variations between the class? There cant have been too many major modifications between them that need tooling up which could be an issue with the Class 158s I'd think a new Class 86 would be a great move
  10. Hi Dave - just a quick question ... when is the next stage of crowdfunding invoice due for the OO gauge 92s?
  11. GordonC

    Dapol Class 21/29

going from tooling to completely ready in 6 months for Q3 would be pretty optimistic, Model Rail Scotland 2018 would probably be more likely!! Just hope they improve the Quality Control from the Class 68
  12. next batch might have a corrected paint-job on one side
  13. ... it just means not getting told off for talking to her cleavage!!
  14. On another thread there was a photo of one on an MGR at Hooton in 1974 http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/120917-class-50s-on-the-joint/&do=findComment&comment=2654792
  15. When introduced, didn't the Class 50s get to places way off the electrified WCML route as well, so I'm pretty sure they got to Perth, Passenger and Freightliner services to North Wales?, Barrow, Heysham, Blackpool and would they not have appeared on the Glasgow/Edinburgh - Liverpool/Manchester services too? and would they have ordered extras for the additional travel time for diversions away from the WCML route to go via Dumfries?
  16. would that have been planned for any reason? just the Class 90 looks a bit buffed up too. It wouldn't have been for traction knowledge/route knowledge purposes perhaps? Presumably if the Class 91 and Mk4 set was there then it must have been passed for route clearance
  17. they might have been dipping their toe in the water so to speak to see what interest there was in them. To be fair, I think that'd be a pretty difficult livery to predict the uptake of. Doing them as collectors club limited editions will have increased the profit margins far higher than normal catalogue releases so that might have greatly reduced the number to sell to make a profit
  18. speaking of futuristic tilting trains ... did the APT ever reach Lime Street? I dont think I've ever seen a picture of it there
  19. the sides and window frames for the original Mentor look appealing. are you making them available too? how much would a set be?
  20. This seems to be happening a lot. I saw recently the A556 link road from M56 to M6 cost was £192m .... for a four mile dual-carriageway road!! Really cant believe the sums of money being spent on some of these transport projects now
  21. Do you mean for when the loco was originally painted in that colour or the latter 2000s repaint before Virgin Cross-Country replaced all the loco-hauled services with Voyagers? This model is of the original version with the headcode panels rather than the later repaint as the Heljan model was.
  22. yes, there's got to be lots that match the original underframe in that livery to renumber to. A quick flick through some photos suggests at least 47428, 47439, 47442, 47448, 47451, 47455, 47456, 47459, 47466, 47481, 47488, 47519, 47563, 47971. Theres bound to be somewrong boiler ports in there or perhaps a flush front that a quick look doesn't show up straight away - 47460, 47473 and 47526 have the right tanks but a flush front.
  23. I thought 47614 was a possible renumber from 47535 with similarly flush fronts at both ends, but agreed, very limited options for straightforward renumbering
  24. come on give him a chance ... is anyone going to die because their model is a bit late in getting to the shops? Its hardly like the Bachmann Class 90 or 158 that's been coming for years and we rarely hear anything. Dave better to get it right and be happy with it than rush and regret it later
