  1. Green diesels are a modern layout are they? they cant have been green for 40+ years I'd associate Pullman cars as being more steam than diesel/electric All the models listed as reviewed are steam or steam era - there's nothing else come out even for review recently???
  2. Looks a whole lot of Kettle content there ... I'll pass on that one
  3. and which bit of the blurb is meant to be read? for the model advertised, which is quite clearly showing signs of Mazak rot in the picture, there is no mention of that in the blurb. I wouldn't be happy paying £68 for something which is going to self-destruct over time. The item in question is of course for a second-hand model and shows a previously sold one. But would a new one coming in to the shop necessarily get re-photographed or the description changed, its hard to tell.
  4. So they're just slow then ... thats better! ...
  5. I cant imagine the fear of damage that must be involved in moving the work of art that that station roof is in particular!!
  6. are you going to have a (pre-production) sample to see at the Glasgow show?
  7. Is that after Strathclyde PTE too? I'd love to see one in the original Orange and Black
  8. they also frequently seemed to have oil leaking down out the seam of the lowest bodyside panel too. Was that at engine room floor level? cant imagine how grotty they were inside if that was the outside!
  9. Is that the excellent Blair Atholl layout from years gone by with the light snow dusting? has it been exhibited for a number of years anywhere?
  10. did Class 31s ever look cared for??? nearly every photo I've ever seen and memory has them looking well worked!!
  11. I always liked the 31s in Dutch livery and Intercity Mainline too
  12. not sure if this helps much http://www.irishships.com/bell_lines.html
  13. I'm not convinced 2 steam locos housed on their own would really be enough of a draw to attract visitors or tourists to give some kind of income to contribute to maintenance costs or repay building costs for establishing under cover accommodation so I would have thought working with established facilities already would have been a more secure future for them. They are his locos at the end of the day and he can do as he pleases with them
  14. With the easy availability of the excellent C-Rail containers I'd wonder how much of a difference in price there would be if the flats were just offered on their own without containers. They could potentially pair up inside a single box perhaps and that could reduce costs elsewhere in the supply chain too
  15. where would they have propelled to Trawsfynydd from? Its a long way from Llandudno junction!! Would it have been from Blaenau Ffestiniog?
  16. Glasgow QS - Oban Glasgow QS - Fort William
  17. No its not, they had a big BRT logo on them instead, that is prior to them being fully repainted in the grey and green livery It was a civil engineers logo and generally had the region in it ... I've certainly seen LMR and ScR
  18. Olivias did another run of Kestrels at a similar time to their exclusive Class 58s
  19. I'd think there would be demand for several runs of the Provincial livery ... it'd be 'Super Sprinter' for me!
  20. daft suggestion ... are the wheels clean? would dirty on one and clean on the other give different running speeds possibly? have you got another similar loco, perhaps a 24 to try and judge better which one runs 'differently'? Are the 25s from the same generation of releases? i.e. 8 pin and no directional lighting or 21 pin with directional lighting
  21. I'm not sure thats right, shops are possibly more likely to commission things which appeal to their owners rather than geographical location. Yes, they might look at things local to their area first, but I'd be quite happy buying something from the opposite end of the country if its something I like
  22. 5 for Coal ... there's also been 37692 as a limited edition and 37796 the latest Class 37/7 with sound
  23. but there seems to have been an abundance of Coal sector locos ... particularly Class 37s
  24. I'm amazed there haven't been more 37/0s produced, particularly in Large Logo Blue. When you compare how many 37/4s have been produced (and presumably sold) then you'd have to think particularly West Highland or Inverness steam heat 37/0s would be quite a rich vein of sales too
