  1. Their SPA plate wagon isn’t a bad kit and suits your requirements. The body is 2 sides and 2 ends. Any warping of the sides is unlikely because they are so shallow. I’d swap out the axle guards for Brass ones (eg MJT) and perhaps replace a few of the cruder parts (it’s an old kit) with alternatives; new Oleo buffers would develop improve the look along with springs and axle boxes. With a little care it can be built into a fine and useful piece of stock. Griff
  2. … and a B5s is very different to a B5 which is very, very different to a B4. Griff
  3. Might have been Metropolitan Railways? It contained the wheels for the winch cables. It also had the Cowans Balance weights. I think it’s out of production. Happily, you can get 3D prints for the weights. https://www.shapeways.com/product/PZN94JCCG/cowans-balance-weight-7601?optionId=301433453&li=marketplace Griff
  4. It’s a pretty accurate representation of a Cowans Sheldon crane. I’d leave it. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/cowanshandcrane Griff
  5. That cross over is very ‘unMinories’ … better without imho
  6. Retirement may be a historical concept in the future. Many of my younger colleagues have the expectation that they will work until they die; how very Victorian!
  7. You say standard but they probably weren’t like that for long. 5 years max I’d say. Griff
  8. wow… just wow I’ve visited this thread via a link out of curiosity and wish I hadn’t. Have an opinion by all means but this is a gunfight over nothing. Back to the bench. It’s safer there. Rob
  9. Could you download Prince performing Purple Rain onto the sound chip? https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj0m7z8jeH-AhURV6QEHYJFDUsQyCl6BAgjEAM&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DTvnYmWpD_T8&usg=AOvVaw2kTFCHIe7LJ9FkM_X9_j0B
  10. If I might add a helpful note…. Be mindful of which code of rail is being used. Set track is generally code 80 but there is also code 55. This rail is finer in appearance and won’t join readily with code 80. To be clear, if the rerailer is code 80 it will be fine with Peco code 80. Griff
  11. I guess republicans come in all flavours ;)
  12. I wouldn’t say nicer…. Just different. Admittedly the Dowmac sleepers look good but the Pandrols look ridiculous. The clips on the 102 are much more convincing imho. Griff
  13. I’m guessing the first problem to face is finding 2 Clayton’s that were in working order ;)
  14. Might be worth searching out the North Woolwich line and Silvertown tramway. An urban branch with many industries and dock lines along it. Griff
  15. 2000? SVR do twice that during a Galla but I suppose they need numbers with the way coal prices are going. My view is that Didcot is a strange place. It’s neither a museum or a heritage railway. Some may say unique but I feel it may lack the appeal of other railway attractions. Let’s put it this way, I drive pass frequently but rarely stop. Griff
  16. It’s good that it’s optional. Most will be disarmed but a few may want to ‘deploy’ them ;)
  17. The Japanese are, frankly, much more organised and tidy culturally than those in the west. I doubt passengers turn up at the last minute and I’m sure they leave the train as clean as they found it. Griff
  18. I can reassure you I don’t have an alternative. That’s not my call. I was merely trying to think as I’d expect a politician would. Grff
