What you may find is that Sustrans the bike people now own the trackbed which could be the case for some of this line looking at the photos in this link http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/keswick-to-threlkeld#./keswick-to-threlkeld?&_suid=142680592135403257031082808194 This may lead to problems trying to get it back, a government backed scheme may fair better than a preservation group for example.

I didn't realise there were so many locos in the same condition which raises the question of why? Surely they are not cheap to buy in the first place add to that rent and then overhaul costs do people not do their homework or is it simply the heart rules the head. Then why do they not start on protecting the outside from the elements and giving the loco/wagon/coach a cosmetic external overhaul first, then play with the innards? I suppose looking around Busses and Cars are similar in that the urgency is to get the motor running. I suppose I've bought models on impulse so perhaps in the same line of thought of the heart ruling the head and if I won the Lottery I may do the same and buy something full scale but until that day I'll save my pennies.

20117 devoid of headcode discs 20117+169 at Carlisle c.1985 20117+20095 with 27014 in the Bay platform at Dumfries 8/12/1984. I believe this area is now filled in and is a Car Park. Once loco hauled trains on the GSWR finished there was no reason to go to Dumfries anymore but it was a nice station and holds some good memories I must go and take some pictures of the coal trains passing. I recently bought this one from an auction site as I thought it was well weird. Turns out to be 33101 rescuing 40001 at Eastleigh from the Campbell road bridge??? after it ran out of fuel with a Coatbridge - Southampton Maritime liner on 18/06/1983 Was the loco supposed to be swapped somewhere but wasn't resulting in the 40 failure? There are some more photos of the event here https://www.flickr.com/search/?q=40001%20eastleigh Cheers Steve

I'm going to attend my first orchestral concert in April at Wembley Arena having been dragged along by my son my part of the deal was we went by train Ok so probably not Classical in the sense of the thread was intended this is more of classical computer game music some of which is now getting on for 30 years old. The idea is the orchestra plays the music from the Nintendo Zelda series of games while a giant screen shows clips from the game behind. All looks to be a very interesting principal and gets the not so musically appreciative interested in all things classical so can’t be a bad thing. Perhaps some of you can form an orchestra to play at Warley 2015? Anyway heres a clip. Its a truly world wide thing http://zelda-symphony.com/schedule such is the interest in all things computer games. To keep it on-topicHowever I did enjoy Dvorák - Symphony No. 9 Allegro con fuoco (If easily offended dont click it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10DqPbbUuw I hope you agree. Steve
