    Been reading about American loco's today. I've managed to summise that although they are powerful and technologically impressive, they fail to have the grace and quiet dignity of UK loco's.

      I am too nervous to start hard wiring my decoders in to start with so the first of mine is going to a pro. However in the future I want to have a go at doing it myself. I will be interested to see how it goes. Did you use a Gaugemaster decoder?

      some teething problems, something is pushing on the gears when I tighten it up, will investigate tomorrow.

      TCS, also needed the dcc supplies digihat. I'm going to avoid hard-wiring wherever possible.

      Its a TCS decoder, the original one needed a setting for some reason before it'd move the loco, can't remember what I did first time around lol!

      How about a section of a loco shed? The thing that springs instantly to mind and that would provide a modelling challenge is the loco repair side of things. The lifting shop at Didcot with a working crane or your chosen region's equivalent strikes me as an interesting choice... The locos themselves could have operating modifications to allow the theme to be accurately portrayed.

    I've reviewed 10 loco's today for my youtube channel, which amounts to about 2 hours of me talking to myself about trains. I don't think thats normal? :(
