  1. I had a successful interview there, does that count? 🙂
  2. Holy thread resurrection! However it would seem that it would be appropriate to post here. A little earlier (ok a lot earlier time wise!) some formations were mentioned, which showed an FK or FO adjacent to the Buffet. It would appear that on one occasion this vehicle was an ex Met-cam/mk1 Pullman second repainted in standard, as opposed to reverse blue grey, and used as a FO. Anyone have any idea how long it might have stayed in the formation? Was it a regular or a one off? Either way my version of the CBE has it in, even if it means a bit of rule 1!
  3. Rampant Rabbits presumably...
  4. I would imagine that during Alan Peglers Stewardship it was a fairly common occurrence, albeit probably not with one with class 31 bogies...
  5. And of course 1500V DC, with a unit that once converted to AC would become class 307.
  6. I am not sure, but I think the bit south of Hitchin which was done in the mid 70's might have been copper catenary.
  7. You can say whatever you want by just changing the font colour from automatic to black for the required word, e.g. make love.
  8. For the ultimate in low cost modelling there is this old thread: £100 Layout Unfortunately it seems the photos have been lost.
  9. Will there be a Holy Hand Grenade Cameo?
  10. Most things from North British struggled to complete a journey without braking down. I presume the London bound ones at Truro had not broken yet.
  11. Indeed, a completely standard production engine - but they did do refueling on the move. Range Rover project Bullet
  12. Nope, on level ground. Even the first diesel version introduced circa 1986 broke diesel speed records, notably averaging over 100mph for 24 hours straight.
  13. Range Rovers have been capable of 100mph for over 50 years...
  14. Not sure if you got what I meant. You could still use your old wagons on the O gauge just by swapping wheels/wheelsets, so you could still use 1960's products on the new system. Similarly the O gauge motors could still have the same 4 stud wide form factor, but with the wheels inset slightly, so again the O gauge motor could be a direct swap for the 1960's stuff. Not only that, but you would gain more space for motion, something sadly lacking on the 9V sets.
  15. I think lego missed a trick when they went from 12V to 9V. They introduced a completely new system of wheels, motors, and track. If they had perhaps built all the then new 9V stuff to O gauge instead it would have opened up a lot of possibilities. Being lego, if you wanted to run the old stuff you would just swap wheels and motors. However it would not have been in "system", which would be strongly against lego policy.
  16. There were a significant number of thefts from freight trains whilst stopped at signals. At least one led to a fatal accident when a wagon door was left open and the movement of the train caused the contents to fall out and derail another.
  17. There is some CCTV footage from the Tesla dealer. The road is a 40mph limit at that point, and the Range Rover crashes through the fence upside down at about Warp 8...
  18. Good spot, I had just noticed that but you beat me to it!
  19. Cheers, thanks. I have a class 31 with a good motor, but a bad body. Plan is to swap motors, and give the rough one to my next door neighbour who has a young grandson who has just got his first railway but is a bit rough with locos. Old Triang Hornby stuff is ideal for him. Will give the motor a service first, but should be more than good enough. So your generosity should result in several pleased people!
  20. I did not know West Countries had Pantographs. Was it like one of those Swedish conversions?
  21. I model the 1970's and my stations include the contemporary BR posters featuring Jimmy Saville.
  22. The Emergency screw coupling would be a special short screw coupling, as it needed to go hook to hook, rather than shank to hook like the semi permanently fitted version on screw coupled stock.
