I have only just seen your post Right Away and thank you so much for replying. Your suggestions are excellent and so are your emus and layout. Inspirational!

Sometime long, long ago, Bachmann expected to offer all the 00 scale stuff in N scale and I therefore bought all three of the N scale 4 Ceps in anticipation of completing a fleet of 3rd rail emus. Since then, nothing.........

If you are thinking of a creek in Kent there is Faversham Creek which was served by rail and many other creeks and inlets around the area. Col Stephens might have built a line to Maidstone or through Old Wives Lees to join up with the Canterbury-Ashford line in the Stour valley.

Mention of Motor Books reminds me of the time I was in their basement at lunch time and surprised the staff member who returned from lunch and found me down there.
He had locked up and thought the shop was empty. I of course was oblivious!!
Didn't get a free book though.......

A really excellent book is:
Between Downs and Thames - Railways of Gravesend, the Hoo Peninsular & Isle of Grain
Written by Rob Poole and published 2016 by him and in conjunction with CompletelyNovel.com

Gerry - just a happy reader!
Does anyone produce any tenement buildings for an urban layout? Possibly a low relief back and front. I realise that there were different styles across the country but wonder if there could be a 'generic' style that could pass.

Hi Richard
There are two new books re Southern Electric due to be published soon from Strathwood, Volume II covering post war builds. Perhaps there might be some info/pictures in that, if so I will let you know as I have both on order!

Hi Richard
There is a colour picture of 7106 in all blue with small yellow panel leaving Whitstable on page 57 of 'Slam doors on the Southern' by Michael Welch. There are black and white pictures of 7182 in the same colours on page 59 of 'The Southern Electric Story' by Michael C Baker and a 'peep' of the front of 7119 with full yellow ends on page 26 of 'Southern Electric Multiple Units' by Colin J Marsden.
Hope this might help you
