  1. Found another from the LT Museum taken in the 60s. This is how I remember it when I first started working in London. Dirty and dusty unlike Adelaide where I had just returned from! Sorry to hear Stoney Lane is gone. I love anything Southern Electric, especially N scale.. Gerry
  2. Hi Grahame I believe the corner building in your post 22 is the original entrance to the Underground at London Bridge. I remember always complaining as a boy in the 50s that it was a long walk to the BR stations. There was also a pedestrian subway outside the LBSCR side running down to the tube station. I haven't been able to find any photos of the tube station but I have found one of people queuing for this subway. I hope this little bit of info is useful. Regards Gerry ps are you exhibiting a layout anywhere?
  3. Really good news. Seriously, could an n scale model be crowdfunded? I hope this could be considered. Regards Gerry
  4. Please do not give up on transitional period model suggestions as looking around me at TINGS yesterday I must say that it looked as if most of us could be transitioning soon! ;O))) Perhaps an emu to consider would be a Bullied 4 Sub as they soldiered on for years, and seemed to go everywhere on the old Southern Region as did the more modern (?) 4 Vep in a variety of colour schemes...... Regards Gerry
  5. The only Bullieds I would like to see are 4 Subs!! Gerry
  6. Class 71 in N scale please. Gerry
  7. I'm drooling but my tracks are only 9mm wide! ;O( Gerry
  8. Excellent news. I love the all blue edition. Will there be curtains at the windows where applicable? Thank you Kernow. Gerry
  9. Hi Ben.I'm unsure whether it is prototypical but were the 321s ever painted in the later NSE scheme that Bachmann illustrate on their NSE 319s? I do appreciate the treacherous waters of colour matching..... Regards Gerry- in emu heaven
  10. I hope that today's announcement from Bachmann that they intend to introduce an N scale Class 319 will encourage folks to support this project. Gerry
  11. Can we look forward to a Farish Trans Pennine Class 350? Seems a no-brainer, especially with the Pendolino and LM Class 321 coming. Gerry
  12. Thank you Ben. I didn't expect an immediate response. I'm down for LM! Regards Gerry Now for the Electrostars........
  13. "The Class 321 we are offering does have a standard high-speed pantograph design so we may offer this as a spare" So, is this emu now definite Ben?. Gerry
  14. Could any of these be suitable for bashing into early SR emus, or will Hornby? Gerry
  15. Congratulations, Peco. Gerry (Well that's all that needs to be said!)
  16. A 2EPB and a MLV would accompany my 4CEPS nicely, together with a new 2Hap of course. I'll even buy this in 00 to encourage shrinkage later as I did with the 00 emus....... Gerry
  17. How about putting news of a possible Scottish version on the Railways of Scotland page here on RMWeb? Gerry
  18. A few years ago Athearn in the USA released a new 'state of the art' HO scale GP7 or GP9 and the lining of their painted Santa Fe release exposed an error in the position of louvres on the sides. Due to the criticism online they immediately acknowledged what was purely an unnoticed error and apologised and re-did the model. What an excellent result for their customers and their reputation. Gerry
  19. Thanks for the suggestions guys. By the way, I did ask Dapol at TINGS to market a 3 - car set and this may be considered..... Gerry

    class 33

I'm afraid to say it but I thought the samples in the cabinet at TINGS looked odd. I can't say what looked wrong but I assumed it was due to the lack of paint. I trust I'm wrong as I need 33s.... Gerry
  21. Thanks for the PDF posters Ben but I think you've missed out Kent or else how can I justify some on my (long) proposed layout? The 21 and 29 map may need amending too.... Gerry
  22. Wow Ben, now I'll have to sell the grandchildren as well as the farm! This choice of emu is an excellent idea due to its geographic coverage and I think inclusion of the maps showing where they ran or runs is a truly inspirational idea. Rapido is an excellent choice too but you and Jason may be named in my divorce.... Gerry
