I love it Mikkel.
I have loads of photographs I took when at Tiverton museum when I visited last year as I would like to build several different types sometime, one in particular is a preachers wagon based in that area with a variant spelling of my family name.
This again is inspirational for me to have a go later, it is also one of the reasons for that little wheelbarrow I made.
I think I might copy your one above though, it's superb.
Thanks for posting.

As I have 4 of these kits to build I have enjoyed reading about the build to see the finished coach, I was lucky enough to be given an old magazine recently that described in detail how to assemble the bogies as well which will be of help.
I'd still like to pick up some more if I could.
I look forward to seeing this one completed.

Hi Mike
I am looking to purchase one of these cutters as I also need to produce the 4 and 6 wheel coaches, I will follow your progress closely.
Looking good so far.

I want one!
Lovely work again Mikkel, I shall have to get out the plastic and knives in the future and have a go.
Your work is so inspirational.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mikkel
I read your thread earlier on the GWR forum and thought we would see one of these later, a great bit of work and one that I may copy later.
I started to build a CC! van (Pooley) on one of my breaks earlier in the year maybe I need to complete it next time.
Great work as usual.

I'll add a me too to that. I've been looking for suitable chain in 4mm and was starting to look at things that I could make it from, thanks for sharing.

Hi Mikkel
It's good to catch up with your work and to see it is of the usual great standard. Looking forward to further updates.

Wonderful work again Mikkel, interesting to know about the problems of painting the panels as I have always used the same method too so I'd better be careful on anything not perfect.
A rake of coaches that I or anyone for that matter would be proud to have on their layout.

You have amazed me yet again, that is just fantastic.
You talk about my eye for detail but this shows I have still a long way to reach your standard. That scratch building is superb especially when seen against the photographs of the original.
I can hardly wait for the next one

Fantastic modelling, the building looks so real especially when looking at those taken under the canopy and as for those chimneys......

That's a great looking loco now that it has a coat or two of paint on. It certainly is an inspiration for me now to scratchbuild sometime in the future instead of kit bashing.
I look forward to seeing the completed model, oh and those close ups look good too.

Both of those models are fantastic, I continue to be amazed by what you achieve on such a small scale. I look forward to seeing C of T being completed.
Oh! and don't let that enthusiasm wane any more please, keep up the great and inspirational work..

I like that a lot and have just read all the posts. I want too build a model of 1300 which ran on the Hemyock branch and was very similar to this so thanks for sharing your build.

Great stuff as usual Mikkel. I shall make sure I don't offend you at anytime, not with you practising all that Voodoo stuff.
Lovely modelling to finish the coach off and I bet you had a satisfied smile on your face after fitting the Lid.

Lovely work there Mikkel and I will certainly be using your roofing technique when I eventually get round to building some early coaches for Hemyock. As for the handrails I always like to add them as it just finishes them off, I've still got a lot of them to add yet as well - yet more things to do!

Hi Mikkel
Not the same kits as such, just in the same state. I just loved brass back in those days and have some from Colin Waite, Mallard and TMD to name but a few. It will take me ages to repair/complete those I have before staring on anything new.
-
I've got several kits like that, they were all built in the late 70s or early 80s and now need the same sort of care and attention. Like you I did not want to practice my skills on them so I purchased an old loco kit that needed a lot of work doing to it, at least if anything goes wrong I won't be too bothered and if it goes well I have another model to use.
Happy New Year and I look forward to the next blog

Fantastic Mikkel
What a marvellous atmosphere you have created within the building despite being empty, I could almost hear my footsteps on the stone floor.

I love the idea of that Mikkel, it is good to be able to change the time period of the same thing to show how it evolves and of course a great excuse to run different stock.
Even though I model the Edwardian period I sometimes think I would like the challenge of modelling Hemyock in its final days, recreating the two extremes in a module form is one way of showing the complete history of a line in one package.
Best of luck with it, it's a great idea and one I look forward to.

Hi Rich
I have recently just started again on building the layout I originally planned back in 1978 - Hemyock MkIII and Tiverton Junction - this time I hope to finish it and post my updates on here to ensure I keep at it and record what I did, mistakes included. I should have enough work to keep me busy for years.

Hi Rich
Like you I am a returning modeller after a 28 year break and I was a fan of Buckingham, however my passion is the Great Western around 1904.
I look forward to seeing how this develops.

Hi Mikkel, I followed the thread on colour and I think you came too a logical conclusion. Looking at your work above I can't fault your decision, it looks right as well as fantastic and I always look forward to your blogs as I know they are well researched and of course look so good. Keep up the good work it's inspirational.

I built one of these back in the early 80s and remember well the difficulties I had, it was my 2nd brass kit that I built. Sadly I lost it but have a replacement to build later so will follow this build to its completion. It makes me want to start it now but Iv'e already got too many incomplete projects running.
It looks great so far.

Fantastic bit of work. I must admit I have a liking for ornate chimney stacks and they are superb examples

Thank you Mike.
Like I'd been looking at these as well, I'm not put off by the fiddly assembly too much but I do not like the wheel or axle assembly. I will consider that if/when I purchase one and I now think the 'if' is a lot greater than it was.
Thanks again
Jim
ps. I've a bit of catching up to do on your other blogs too by the look of things.
