When I saw this announcements about the FO vehicle I had to check what was on my layout and I have two Bachmann FO - 39-241 https://www.hattons.co.uk/107224/bachmann_branchline_39_241_mk1_fo_first_open_m3000_in_br_maroon/stockdetail It is interesting that Bachmann produced a type of vehicle that BR only built 3 of - E3000 - E3002 The next batches of FO vehicles had centre doors and these were more common and what is now being released. Something I noticed watching the video is the Disk Brake inserts on the wheels are quite white instead of a silver And some of them are a bit off centre making the wheel look wobbly Maybe they should be a dull silver as they are not that noticeable in real life Nice the locos are on the way - :)

A wide variety of new releases are expected in Q3 2024 catering for BR green, BR blue, Railfreight and Civil Engineers examples with many detail and livery variations.

I am very impressed with your 110 to 104 conversion. I have a few 110 cars and I will give that a go. The repainting can be done by a local chap at a good price. Thanks :) Peter

Thanks for the suggestion but getting it made in the correct scale is a bit beyond what I can do. Peter

I might look again at the Silver Fox Class 104 Cab for the Hornby 110. Peter
-
I will give that up as a bad idea. No 3D printer and nobody in the local group has one.

Thanks, I will look at unpluging the lights at one end. My layout is like a Dogbone and I just run the locos with the Front (DCC) leading so I remove the couplings at that end and the inner end is dark. Peter
-
Having looked at the Ironmink page they just seem to have plans and don't have any fronts for sale - or am I missing something Peter

Having recently pick up a second hand Class 23 at Doncaster Model show and fitted a DCC Chip I notice the Tail Lights are on when the head lights are on. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Thanks Peter

The price on the Locomotion version is £150 on Rails of Sheffield - I wished I had gone to Ally Pally. https://railsofsheffield.com/products/north-eastern-railway-es1-ner-green-as-preserved-bo-bo-no-1-electric-locomotive There is the York show at Easter and Locomotion have a stand so I will look then Peter

Your standards must be quite low 😁

I'm still tempted with this loco and with the Locomotion version being reduced I might get one. Anyone know if you need a special decoder for this loco? Thanks
-
Really?

And we are 20 days in to March - Chinese New Year must be over Still no pictures to drool over though

Bachmann 44-119 - Measurement Required
Peter749 posted a topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
I'm looking at the Bachmann 44-119A or 44-119B Scenecraft OO gauge Great Central High Level Station Entrance. Could anyone who has this model tell me the measurement between the base, where it sits on the platform, and where the steps reach street level. The models are no longer on the Bachmann website to find out. I don't wish to buy one to find out it might be too high or too short. Thanks Peter -

I noticed on that somebody complained the Top Headlight does not work and Heljan replied "Unfortunately the top lights aren’t illuminated on the Class 57s. This is a rerun of an older model (dating from the 2000s) and although the chassis has received a small upgrade the specification is not as sophisticated as our latest models." I would have thought this info might have made a website It is not mentioned on the Rails of Sheffield website https://railsofsheffield.com/search?tags_brand_td93xydblb7cxukrqni65zsz=Heljan&q=Class 57 Take note if you intend to buy one of these locos Peter

I picked up the ESU decoder from DC Kits at Doncaster Model Show today. Thanks @charliepetty Very pleased with the operation and features. I just need to work out how to turn off the gradual slow down. I 'm quite happy with the loco building up speed when pulling the 15 Yeoman hoppers but I would prefer to have the train slow down and stop where I want it to. I think it's just a CV I need to change. Peter
-
I was looking at something like that but I don't think my knowledge is good enough. I will order a Decoder from DC Kits. Thanks Peter

I think you mentioned in a previous post that Cavalex were looking at released a decoder that was set up for these locos? I asked Rails and they are mapping decoders for those people who purchased DCC Fitted. At the moment they don't have them for sale on their website.
