  1. I was disappointed by the BR Tail Lamps Kit - I ordered two of these and the carrying handles are completely broken off in one pack and 2 of the 6 broken off in the other. The picture does not help as it shows the lamps with the Crystals glued in place. What you get is not what is shown in the picture. Need to look for some ready made Peter
  2. Peter749

    Class 88/93

I had not spotted that - my bad. I see it was mentioned there but no actual pictures - just links to other pages.
  3. Peter749

    Class 88/93

The first Class 93 has appeared in the works in Spain
  4. The second picture looks good and I wanted to do something similar but I can not work out how to attach the Coupling to the Eurostar Power Car. Peter
  5. I have a Dummy Eurostar Power car and I want to fit some form of coupling to the front so I can drag it with a diesel or something else. Maybe some form of NEM box and then I could use Magnetic couplings - I even thought of using Kaydee box getting my head around fitting it is the problem Has anyone else tried this? Thanks Peter
  6. I notice the website is again in use and I thought about getting a low relief warehouse https://www.modelux.store/ https://www.modelux.store/product-page/york-warehouse-one-low-relief-kit Peter
  7. Will weathered versions of the HAA wagons be produced? The wagons look very good apart from being too clean compared with how they were in normal service. Peter
  8. I did look on Google and just because you found a picture would depend on your search settings
  9. The TSO(L) car has a toilet unlike the middle coach on 150001/002 - some work would be required
  10. Heljan 2775 Class 27 D5382 in BR two-tone green with small yellow panels Is this a fictitious livery? I was looking thru a number of books but I cannot find a picture of a Class 27 without the white cab surround Although I suspect somebody will know of one
  11. I had not spotted the comment in this thread Strange it went around the layout like that.
  12. The new Hornby Magnetic coupling seem similar to the Bachmann 36-060 and those did not have a representation of an actual coupling Peter
  13. I watched the "Hornby A Model World" tv program and I was less than impressed to see the loco sliding along the track with the wheels locked and the tender drive pushing Peter
  14. On Heljan's Facebook page are pictures of the first Factory Decorated Samples of the Class 73/1 https://www.facebook.com/heljanas Don't like the not very straight handrails on some locos
  15. I have a rake of 15 Accurascale PTA Yeoman wagons and I was having problems with the Buckeye style coupling detaching on a gradient where there is a change in height. So I replace the inner couplings with Kadee #19 that has the NEM fishtail. They are slightly bigger than the Accurascale versions but they do the job and the train runs quite well :) Peter
  16. Thanks again Simon I got the required DCC Decoder and the Stay-Alive - it has improved the running so it is a regular runner now. Pleased I got Jerry Baker - Squirrel Rail - to repaint the loco in to BR Blue as 73002 Peter
  17. My loco came with etched Double Arrow for the owner to fit
  18. Both pantographs are not in use at the same time when in motion - it is up to the driver and the railway system as to which pantograph is used
  19. I think it is up to the driver as to which pantograph is used - I know with the Pendolinos they used the front pantograph at first and later changed to the rear. Usually when the pantograph strikes something the OHLE is also damaged so having a working pantograph would not make a difference.
  20. When I have been taking pictures on the UK network the rear pantograph is normally used. But there are always exceptions https://peter749.piwigo.com/picture?/39229/category/462-class_89_90_and_92
  21. In theory if you have the 92 with Sound the fans should stop when you used the F14 button - and then restart on pressing it again. My version of 92003 does not have sound so I cannot test it. Peter
  22. I had noticed that and I looked for a clip to release but I could not find it. Whilst looking for the clip I caught the edge of the pantograph and it sprung up - same with the second pantograph. Although I have put an ESU Lok Pilot 59629 in the loco I'm not sure if my DCC will operate the pantographs? I have no idea which Fn to push to make them rise lower - lots of high numbered Function values and I don't know if my Lenz LH 90 will operate some of the higher numbers
  23. A class 92 is not different to any AC Electric loco/unit at a neutral section. It is where the power supply in the overhead wires has to be isolated from two different supplies and there is a dead section of earthed "wire" To make sure the loco is not taking power when passing thru a neutral section an APC magnet trips the main breaker on the loco At the side of the rails are APC Magnets - like an AWS Magnet - and there is an APC pickup on one side of one of the locos bogies Passing over the first APC magnet the main breaker on the roof disconnects and the loco coast thru the Neutral Section Passing over the second APC Magnet the Main Breaker is automatically reset and the driver can then apply power Although this is a picture from a simulation all the components are visible On the real Class 92 with the main power disconnected the fans stop and there is no other electrical power Sorry if the reply is a bit long Peter
  24. I believe it is a RFID tag which helps track the locos for maintenance purposes 92003 does not have the tag as the loco is in as built condition and the tags were not in use then. The tags got fitted in the EWS era 92003 has a tag now but is in need of some TLC I noticed the GBRf locos don't seem to have the tag - unless it is somewhere different Peter
  25. My 92003 arrived today - quite pleased with the appearance of the packaging - much better than any other manufacturer. I won't have a DCC chip until nearer Christmas or maybe new year so it will have to wait for a run out. Might pick one up at the Manchester Model show this weekend. Peter
