  1. This bit of information is very helpful - Thank you Peter
  2. I have a problem with my Lenz LH90 System as it does not use Fn above 12 ! For my Accurascale 92s I had chips from DC Kits - that were programmed to use lower Fn keys. I have two LH90 controllers with a LZV100 Base unit and to change to a new system would be fairly expensive. Peter
  3. I sent an email to Rapido and Dan Hull a Warranty Engineer replied "I’ve found the best performing decoders with our products out of the box are Lenz silver, Rails, DCC Concepts and ESU Lokpilot. All of these are available with Next18 interfaces." As Lion has limited functions I opted for a Next 18 from Rails. It has a lower height than the GM version so the tender should fit properly Peter
  4. The one part of the loco that seems strange is the way the DCC is set up. With other models, like Bachmann, Dapol, Hornby, you put in any 21 pin decoder and the Functions are already pre mapped. In the instructions it says which Fn to use to make the lights and other things work. I don't know why you cannot use a default 21 pin decoder for a non-sound version. Peter
  5. Yes, just saw it - very quick reply 8 mins after I sent the question 😲 Peter
  6. Back to the model - having picked up a 56 today from Rails I got it home and there was something loose inside. Taking the body off one of small fittings in the cab that has the Dials on fell out. Is there a way to take the interior out of the cab so I could glue the small piece back in place? Thanks Peter
  7. I have the same problem - having fitted a Gaugemaster Next 18 decoder I cannot get the body to sit flush on one side. If its in on the left its not on the right - and v.v. Anyone know of a better solution to attacking the inside of the tender?
  8. Ordered a BR Blue 56008 from Rails to pick up when available. Looking forward to this loco. Peter
  9. Ok, thanks. Is the manual available as a download? Peter
  10. So If I was to buy one of the Non-Sound fitted locos and put a Decoder in the loco I won't know what it can do apart from turning the Main Lights on or off? Most locos have a Fn list - I presume this does not?
  11. I was more interested that if I put a standard chip in the loco I would be able to use the basic functions - Lights On/Off and Rear Lights On/off Is there a list somewhere of the functions? Thanks Peter
  12. It is the LZV100 as I have had the set, LZV100 + LH90, for some time. I'm not fussed going down the path of looking in to CV values. I don't use Sound locos on my layout as you hear them well before you see the loco so it spoils the effect. The Spog might be ok for testing If you know the decoders address. But my ESU 53900 Decoder Tester will also test the decoder. Peter
  13. Is there a list of the Functions that a non-sound loco uses? After a few problems with the Accurascale 92 as the Function Range was outside what my Lenz LH90 could do I would like to know what the range is. Thanks Peter
  14. I think the Decoder Pro might be beyond what I can actually do. I have a ESU 53900 Decoder Tester but it did not help when I did not know what number the decoder was set at. Peter
  15. I had removed some of the decoders as I needed a better decoder than a default one. And I'm not sure if one of the three might be faulty. I have a loco that I have not yet fitted a decoder so I will place a decoder in the loco and program it to Loco 3 and I can see if that works. Thanks for the replies. Peter
  16. I have a few Decoders that I removed from locos but I cannot remember which Address they are set at. They were 3 by default but not now. I have two DCC Controllers - the main one is a Lenz LH90 and my programming controller is a Bachman Dynamis And my knowledge of such controllers is limited. - If its not in the manual I have a problem Thanks Peter
  17. Kernow are rubbish is saying something has been sent when it is still in the Warehouse the following day. My account at 17.00 Friday does not show it has having been despatched. So it might come sometime next week Peter
  18. Slightly O.T. but Hattons now have an Amazon option for a flat £4.00 next day delivery which I normally use.
  19. I would be interested to know how long your parcel from Kernow takes. They sent out an email at 10.25 Thursday saying "Your order has been shipped via Royal Mail," but that means they have taken it off their system. And underneath it says "PLEASE NOTE - YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN PASSED TO THE WAREHOUSE AND WILL USUALLY BE DESPATCHED THE SAME WORKING DAY." Well it did not go Thursday and nothing to say it might go today :(
  20. In the late 1940s when the wires were put up for these locos I doubt much research was done in to harmonic frequency for a 15mph tram wire.
  21. Slightly irritating that of all the liveries being produced there is not one that cover what I would like. A 3 car set in BR blue with a single roof mounted light - as built, maybe a white cab roof. What I remember from being a Guard in the Manchester area Peter
  22. The window surround has not changed since introduced. At first the gap between the windows was painted black to match but later it was done in yellow on some units
  23. The Northern 323s are based at Allerton depot and work along Chat Moss to Manchester and to Alderley Edge, Crewe, Hadfield, Macclesfield, Manchester Airport and Stoke-on-Trent. They used to work Liverpool to Warrington Bank Quay until the service finished with Covid and never restarted. People in the industry expect the 323s to start working Liverpool to Wigan, Preston/Blackpool and Manchester Airport/Victoria to Bolton, Preston/Blackpool when more 323s come from the West Midlands. So not just the Manchester area :)
