  1. Well hopefully this will be enough time to include a better lighting suite including indie cab lights and corridor.
  2. 87006 Large Logo now on sale for £139.99 direct from Hornby.....almost half price.
  3. only replying here as I couldnt find a west hill wagon works section but its OHLE.... apparently they are now producing OHLE kits which is news to me. first heard about this last night on a Dean Park you tube video.......doesnt anybody know what has been announced as all I can see is the double track single mast stanchions. they look great but hoping for other types.
  4. Yeah, few in their right mind would have paid almost £200 with that red stripe mistake apart from those weathering them up maybe which would lessen the effect of the different reds......it was poor on Hornbys part to sign that off in the first place......almost like lets just nobody will spot the difference. If we are to pay top dollar these things have to be right.
  5. Id say to improve the 87 they need metal pantographs, paint application needs to be watched on future releases and the lighting function suite needs improving. Id like to see those cab lights on separate functions plus some corridor lights......they need to catch up with the standards of Bachmann, accurascale, Heljan and cavalex. Not fuused about a dcc pantograph.
  6. 87009 is now on offer at Rails for £139.99 it has the flaw with the red stripe but at that price I might be tempted to grab one. Returned my original model whenthey first dropped but got my £192 back however this reduced price is pretty darn good compared to the £217 RRP.
  7. Fran, are you looking at any units? Would sell my right leg for a 3 car Class 303 EMU in Strathclyde orange and black with full lighting package and a great looking metal pantograph. Plus you know how popular the Scottish Region modelling scene is.... then theres the numerous livery options the refurbished options then the Manchester area options......
  8. Wonder if AS offer the lightimg boards as a spare part?
  9. Be great to see some Mk2D corridor Firsts and corridor brake firsts.
  10. Yeah I didnt think it was as simple as cut n shut interiors.....
  11. It is yes but youd have the wrong interior for that half.
  12. Thats reminded me and I did suggest it years ago given the love of scottish region modelling......still no Mk1 BSOT. Have Bachmann ever released a BSO? Dont think they have......
  13. Im thinking no difference apart from maybe the era was the TSO just a reclassification? Its still an Open.
  14. Pity they didnt mirror the new Mk1 Farish offerings this quarter of white roofed inter city charter versions.....lucky old 2mm modellers..... Very attractive looking coaches complete with curtains in the windows.
  15. Not wanting to disappoint some corners here with my disappointment but here it is nonetheless there was "nothing in it for me".
  16. Well i dont think weve seen a Finsbury Park white stripe 31 for some time so maybe this could be on the cards tomoro.....in fact was it Lima who last did a white striper? Sure Hornby never produced one.
  17. Yeah agree they are kind of interesting and ee have to accept that each announcement wont cater for everyones needs.......enjoy the presentation folks. Ill be starting work a bit earlier then hopefully I can listen in live at 9.30am. The Anglian Mk2fs is a good shout maybe with a matching Class 90. Goes nicely with the DBSO thats already out. Wonder if those new 31s are easily converted to EM/P4. Its just that to my eye the bogie frames look quite inset.....
  18. Just watched the Key video and it seems tomoro will feature the 31 details. Does anybody know which retailers have historically been quick out of the blocks with updating their websites following these announcements?
  19. Well i know what i dont want in tomorrows announcement now......half an hour of it taken up by regurgitation of this Class 30/31 "announcement" padding out the main event. Just interested in the "additional" announcements. To be honest I dont quite follow why they have done this standalone (yes theyve done it before). It was only 24hrs to the main annoucement so why the early bird approach I really dont know, I mean what difference does 1 day make here? On duplication i endorse the few other comments here. The decision was romeo done years ago and what others are announcing was unlikely to change anything Bachmann had decided on..... I am ignoring the earlier suggestions about the Class 50 and Class 87. Dont buy that at all most of all the 87. If they do an 87 I will be there at the front of the queue as the Hornby one is still not the definitive 87 as nice as it looks but I doubt we are going to get another new tooled diesel or electric loco on top of the 31. The credit card is getting an early night tonight in case tomorrow is a busy day with placing pre orders. Id like to see a Scenecraft twin track overbridge of the style typically found on the WCML north of Weaver junction after the electrifcation with the pre formed concrete inner supports. ______ / \
  20. Are those corridor windows a bit over size on the height???? Maybe its an optical illusion but they look bigger than than the bodyside grilles. Also while im picking....why is the lower support arm on the high speed pan going off to one side? That doesnt look as good as it could be compared to how Bachmann produced their 90 pan with the lower arm underneath achieving the perfect illusion of just a single arm.
  21. Just had another thought.....with the newly painted LSL Class 37 409 "Loch Awe" in ScotRail livery running around the network looking su-perb, I wonder if on the 6th Feb Accurascale will announce their version ahead of Bachmann possibly including the same loco on the 7th! Its bound to be on many a wish list......
  22. Maybe as it was 2013 (yes that long ago!) since the Mk2fs were announced and 6 years since the first runs appeared......could they perhaps be announcing a refreshed version addressing what I see as some of concerns over on the old Mk2f forum thread? Circular mould marks on the roof Prism free glazing No visible internal body below the outer bodyside lower edges (about 0.5mm visible) Reduced window frame height (although that would probably necessitate completely new tooling as opposed to not enough height?) Correct "Inter-City" branding position on the blue and grey BSO 39-700 and 39-700DC ( on the passenger end side). I did mention this to a surprised rep at Warley pre Covid maybe 2020 and they couldnt say if the actual coach had been produced from the prototype with the branding errantly so positioned) it would be such an easy fix to move thr tampo along a few centimetres under the first passemger window). And does anybody know why Bachmann had the blue and grey runs produced with dark brown underframes and bogies....did BR outshop them like that? The only problem I have if we see some more 39-675s is affording them as I need another 8! Be nice to see some presentation packs of say 3 or 4 or even twin packs. Theyve treated the N gauge boys with new versions and even two new running numbers of each so this would be welcome in 00.......
