  1. Thanks Ben for looking in and letting us now. If they are in the EU then no doubt they will take longer than they normally would have done - post Brexit. Just means I have more time to save up!
  2. Yes but it was the retailer who gave the delivery date, which suggests they had been notified they were already en route to them...
  3. Hi I require a complete Class 90 chassis - any help or suggestions please?
  4. Rails announced imminent delivery of the 86 in February; does anyone have any other information?
  5. How about Russian Revolution, French Revolution, Glorious Revolution, Velvet Revolution...
  6. I know that the names are difficult to read, let alone pronounce but why not some Celtic gods of nature?
  7. I thought about those gods and their dark character resonates with the black livery however I'm not sure names like Hades, Persephone and Cerebus ( think along the lines of Lucifer Morningstar) would go down well with the public - perhaps these locos will be hidden away working on night time rosters
  8. I like that idea - I am sure children would love it as well when thinking about the different woods used to make the wands in Harry Potter however it might be a bit strange naming them Blackthorn, Holly or Beech What about the gods and goddesses of the forests, lakes and mountains? They would have to borrow from the Greek pantheon - the Nymphs are numerous enough and have some interesting names such as Electra, Asterope, Nephele
  9. This is an exciting announcement - it would be nice to see locomotives named after female goddesses - there are already many locomotives named after the male gods - or is there some protocol for naming locos that I am not aware of?
  10. Pethaps the wrong thread but did anyone here have a Baccy 90 chassis they are happy to sell?
  11. 90 pages of the Class 90 Why not start a wishlist? Before anyone asks...the double arrows were just too hard to draw...and no it isn't a Bachmann...
  12. Maybe Hornby could put dual drive in there while they are at it and a driver
  13. If Hornby put the new Class 87 S-F pantograph onto the roof of the 90, they could certainly sell a lot more if they added TTS - they would sell a lot lot more.
  14. I assume they can't just have sweeping licensing rights? They would have to renegotiate for each new model. That is assuming DB deals with marketing directly. They may have sold their imaging rights to 3rd parties who make a business of such. Whatever, if the fee becomes too high Bachmann may decide that they don't want to pay it. I do hope not as I would like an EWS and DB 90
  15. Perhaps DB was reluctant to give a reasonable licensing fee for EWS
  16. I doubt we wil now see more Class 90's until 2022/2023 but I would be very happy to be proved wrong reasons... The issue of broken bogies probably caused a headache for them with numerous returns that had to be investigated and a solution found - at the same time they will want to wait and see what sales have been like over time before considering whether there will be much demand or profit in a second batch then they will need to consider the perfect timing for a second run - it is a busy year for electrics with the arrival of an 86, a 92, more 87's an APT and more 85's all this during a period of contraction of the global economy and disruption of Brexit and apparently competition for production slots perhaps there may be a possibility of new liveries in time for Christmas - my guess is Bachmann is hoping to see prices rise as availability of the current batch of 90's become scarce. Until recently prices were actually falling - which is bad for them - for buyers it is good. What is clear is they know the market well - I would have thought it suicidal to release new liveries of the Class 66 but I think they were clever to release sound versions quite close to the price mark of the Hattons model.
  17. Well in that case Dapol may need to be worried about Accurascale - seeing the way their PTA wagons have evaporated - something is going to have them haul them - right?
  18. I know this is a Class 59 thread but which one do you prefer? I am happy with the Bachmann, I'm fed up with photo realistic details on some models they fall off all the time, although the Hattons is very good in this regard
  19. We have 3 class 66s producers I know which one I wouldn't buy and yet it flies off the shelves..
  20. According to Rails, the Heljan 86's are due in stock this month - it's Valentine's Day this Sunday and I don't think they will be here in time...
  21. I don't know how the industry works but my guess is you have to bid for a production slot; perhaps Dapol may want to wait it out for a more affordable production slot and use any extra time to refine and test the loco more. They really don't want a repeat of what happened with the first batch of the Class 73 for example. If I was Dapol I would also be nervous of Hornby going against me with an updated Class 59 with lighting and TTS sound - which is a very real risk. I would be keeping my cards very close to my chest with regard delivery times - I guess they may suddenly appear with very little notice. In the end if they can't make this model profitable - they will shelve it in favour of other models - that may already be happening
  22. To be fair they are a small company - compared to Hornby is like BT with GiffGaff. However they have made some amazing models, such as the MRA tippler and of course they have to be very careful the 59 will be welcomed by modellers to be a financial success All this with Covid going on I can wait!
