  1. Our house guest Wednesday, adjusting to our German Shepard. She is a spicy little cat!
  2. Wow! That is really a labor of love. Lets hope there isn't more rot in the remaining Mazak, or there is going to be more love involved!
  3. Precedent Sale https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/lnwr-precedent-class
  4. I have really enjoyed the discussion thus far. A few of my Warships, later Bachy 42s...
  5. An LNER Brake adapted to carry Pigeon baskets. It was used as an ambulance coach in WWII.
  6. Looks promising, hopefully Heljan will get a proper fit between the hood and frame. They didn't get that right on the PWMs. One item that looks like it might need fixing on the green early crest, if you go that route, is the steam generator stack. It had changed to a rectangular shape later in 10800's service life.
  7. Based on the comments and evidence in this topic, 10800 ran in green with the early crest for a couple of years before being taken out of service. It never operated in service in green with the late crest. So your best bet if you want to run 10800 in green, is to get a set of Cambridge Custom Transfers with the early crest and numbers, and backdate the livery.
  8. Unfortunately for Heljan, I didn't order a PWM, which I did want. I spent an afternoon in 1976 watching 652 shunt wagons. For what they are asking, the PWMs should run like watches. I also cancelled my pre-order for the Class 02, I'd rather wait and see if they have problems, rather than having to return a model to the UK. If I miss out on the 02, oh well...
  9. I agree with that list, the closed cabs have a rounded box that extends around the brake handle, that box can be seen in the artwork.
  10. I understand that smaller businesses may only be one person deep in terms of staff responsibilities, but I'm beginning to get a bit perturbed with Planet Industrials. Maybe everyone is on a month long holiday or god forbid, there has been a death in the family... A quick timeline of events: 5 April 2021 Paid in full for a black Victory 23 November 2022 Victory shipped to my home in USA 25 December 2022 Discovered I had a bad Victory that I couldn't repair 6 January 2023 The Victory is returned to PI 17 January 2023 PI signs for the return 22 February 2023 I inquire as to the status of my return, PI kindly refunds my postage, states the Victory has been repaired and will be "dispatched by the end of the week" 11 March 2023 I receive two Royal Mail packages from Liverpool and Sheffield, both shipped the week of 22 February 25 March 2023 I request confirmation the Victory was shipped and request a tracking number, no response 7 April 2023 I request confirmation the Victory was shipped and request a tracking number, no response 12 April 2023 I request confirmation, at the info address instead of orders address, that the Victory was shipped and request a tracking number, no response We are coming up on 2 full months since the Victory was supposed to be dispatched. Royal Mail is currently taking two weeks to get from the UK to the USA. I'm at a complete loss as to why I cannot get a response from PI concerning that Victory.
  11. One of my peeves has always been thick windscreens with a heavy prismatic edge to the windows, Bachmann seems to just not understand how to design models to minimize this...
  12. Specifications state directional headlights & tail lights, plus a cab light. After the fit issues and largish wheel flanges on the PWMs, I'm concerned regarding my 02 pre-order...
  13. I bought a UV glue kit a couple of years back. My thought was that it would work well for attaching the gubbins on diesel buffer beams, hold the hose in position, then shine the light. It worked, but gel super glue or epoxy worked as well, and held better. I'm still using 5 minute epoxy. I like super glue, but its shelf life is short. 5 minute epoxy in the bottle last years, and you have plenty of time to to position the part while it sets. Plus, if you are gluing etched brass hooks on wagons, IMO nothing beats epoxy. If you are just pushing wagons around on a shelfie, all three glues will hold your hooks in place. A big layout, with helixes and long rakes of weighted wagons, use epoxy on those hooks.
  14. So my A5 arrived in Virginia today. 69820 is fit for purpose! 😀 Straight footplate, perfect lining / lettering, and a smooth DC runner on the rollers / test track. A 40B Immingham shed plate which is correct for her last shed according to the BRdatabase. Only negatives, the top outside edge of the cast footplate is a little rough and the lamps should have been in the parts baggy. I'm going to resist dissection until I get a stay alive sound project for her, there must be massive amounts of space inside...
  15. In my enthusiasm that first shot was red lining, lets try again...
  16. D6703 has made me very happy! Now deciding what to do with my D6704 pre-order. Decisions, decisions, decisions... 😀
  17. I received an email that my A5 had shipped, a week after the card was charged. No international tracking number provided. My Rapido Hunslet took 5 weeks from Cornwall to Virginia. I hope RM gets back to 10 days delivery time, the current situation is dire, and I don't expect to see that A5 for a while yet...
  18. When you have trouble selecting a road name, so you just buy one of each model. Of course now your roundhouse is full and wifey is questioning why you need so many! Best viewed on flickr, with a large monitor. This landscape was created from five separate images that I combined in Photoshop. NS Heritage Units Spencer NC July 2012 by Pete Piszczek, on Flickr
