  1. Wagons - aghhhhh I managed a few I needed by the simple method of nagging. Nagging got me quite a few BR Tube wagons, and quite a few BR 21t hoppers. Yes I nagged Parkside for ages. A BR plate I made by converting a pre BR Parkside plate (not sure which railway). Over half of my VB stock is Parkside, the rest is mainly Airfix. AB was well catered by Cambrian who upon my nagging made sure they did chassis for their 4W AB stuff. I am afraid that is my full list of nagging acheivements all thanked with multiple purchases. I now need some ex LMS ironstone wagons, no kits, no RTR and very fiddly to chop out of plastic card. Hmm who would I bother now?
  2. Just running trains, is this different to operating? I just like to watch them go by.
  3. Not much more to see but lots done. Repair work to DMSL cab as split joint. Currently drilling holes in them. Door handle at 9.5mm from bottom Grab handle (standard Mark1!!!!) 8mm and 11mm from bottom Filler pipe ends, 4mm from bottom Roof vents on two rows 6.75mm from roof centre line Will use MJT shell vents 1mm rod for toilet tank fillers Comet fan vent MJT door and grab handles Just need some soft wire for exhausts, I MAY have some copper suitable in the shed failing that will check a DIY shop for anything suitable.
  4. At one stage I wanted to build a modernised car, but finances did not allow. I wanted to get a very late Avenger Estate and do a lot of work, starting with the engine, would be large valve unleaded head, interesting cam and Megasquirt. 185/60 tyres would fit on 6J rims no problem. Interior would just be top end with rev counter, but would have investigated aircon. Never had the chance due to disappearance and huge price rises.
  5. And there is me considering spending a few thousand on a new chassis for a 2003 Discovery
  6. I paid £40 for my 1600 and got £40 for my ex Imp engine off a trike owner. Engine change, then cam change 40bhp to 69bhp to 115bhp
  7. Vincent or Harley Hmm NOT a tough choice!
  8. Try a 1.0 Sunbeam, flat out everywhere. Luckily easy to fit 1600. Which is why they all became body donors.
  9. Just received a strange email written in Klingon. I don't think he meant to send it!
  10. We did have few 47s but not hundreds. On NESW and NWSW trains just as likely to have a peak. Within region a 50. So number of 47s would be similar to peaks and 50s. I can get away with 1 or so 25. But I need a lot of 37s
  11. What would they do? Sit there doing little? Got 50s and peaks for passenger. Need 37s for freight
  12. Disco is slang for Discovery. Well the front half of chassis is not rusty, due to cam shaft access hole bung failures (now sealed in). My 47s are mix of Hornby. Lima and Heljan and I still need 3 more 47s to have enough.
  13. I model a mix 1 What I remember from being young up to a mad amount of steam specials in 85 - hence my large amount of Blue Grey stuff, and a few shiny steam locos such as Leander, Evening Star and others. Still need Clun Castle. Lots of DMUs including 116, 117,118, 119 and 120. 2 An interest in local lines, seing old photos of closed lines with interesting trains - so building a few suitable things such as an ex MR 2P and a 1950 Swindon Inter City 6 car set. 3 An interest in 1960 WR with classic GWR moving to Hydraulics, so a 22 on a B set, seen pictures of it. I have a connection to all 3.
  14. Lanarkshire do plenty for early BR wagons such as the Airfix ones.
  15. Just will drill big holes so they can fit on mjt frames
  16. Do you get problems with PU resin expanding? I am slightly underfilling but still getting bubble overs, most can be ignored or chopped off by I have to find 18 good bogie frames from my pile. None are usable without a lot of sanding.
  17. Oops Many years ago 1980s I went a bit fast over that bridge. Upgeared in red in top
  18. Back then, Clarks boots, or biker boots, jeans, T Shirt jumper, denim jacket OR Belstaff coat. What I can remember was that the roads were infested with scooters, which we all took the pee out of.
  19. Also often comes down to beancounters putting their oars in. Cost me a couple of hundred quid on my last car to fix an issue which saved them 24p (cheap rubbish valve seals)
  20. Will cut out of 20 thou, will draw up the corridor first and corridor buffet corridor sides as well. Note that laminating means the inside angle is more acute than outside.
  21. Just noticed you can see the CPU water cooler for the PC, got it cheap from Maplins but not enough room to fit properly, been sitting on the top of the PC for a couple of years now. Really hot summer someones home PC from work conked due to heat, mine low 50s.
