  5. "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

  6. NSWGR 4490, preserved by the NSWRTM NSWGR 44211, Preserved by the NSWRTM NR26 on the Indian Pacific Hunslet #1825 of 1938 PWD 79 'Plum', the only Standard Gauge Hunslet 0-6-0ST to run in Australia XPT at Central Beyer Peacock 'P6' C32 #3265 Hunter at Thirlmere in Maroon 3642, the NSWRTM's current workhorse 3609 languishing out the back of the RTM 3616, the only locomotive in Australia fitted with a Giesel Obong Ejector, in the running shed at the RTM stripped for assesment to possibly return to trafic (taken by a volunteer) 4520 at Central with regauged VR (now CFCLA) S300 running around the Sydney Children's Hospital special (each child left with a Hornby train set) And to show Mike what a REAL C38 looks like ( ), here is 3820 down at the RTM
  7. I'll chip in the first round of many to come: 110 year old Beyer Peacock 3016T at Central Station The first locomotive across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, 1905, sits in the NSWRTM NR18 in new Indian Pacific livery at Central on January 2nd 100 year old Hunslet 2705 at Thirlmere 4306, the only diesel of her design left in the world at Central 4918 on the AK track recording cars at Central 4473, unique in being the only 44 out of one hundred to have a horizontal rear headlight A study of DL liveries. DL44 is one of only two left in this colour scheme, whereas DL40 is in standard Pacific National Blue and Yellow And, whilst not technically a locomotive, I just can't resist this one of Paybus FP1 down at Thirlmere in the RTM

  14. We can't talk about preservation without talking about Locomotive No. 1-not only the first locomotive in NSW, but the first preserved (1884 was the year it was presented to the Museum of Science and History (now the Powerhouse Museum)). Having the chance to call by briefly on the 15th of June whilst doing something else, I took a couple of pictures of her. 1.Frontal view 2. The simplistic 'cab' 3. Looking down the length of the display from rear to front 4.The first, second and third class coaches on display with No. 1
