  1. Looking good now, Graham.
  2. Good old Leek. I bet you could get to Buxton this morning in a hurry, or anywhere else for that matter.
  3. I doubt there were any that changed from R to L. SE Finecast have it wrong on their cab footplate piece.
  4. I don't know if you have room Mr W, but would there have been some sort of boarding to stop crew tripping over the point rodding when accessing the water crane?
  5. Now with brakes, sanding equipment and handrails. There was no provision for the cab rails, so I've made the best I can. I even found a nice brass brake stand in the box of bits. Just visible through the cut-outs is the Wakefield lubricator from a scrapped Airfix 2P. The ejector pipe was still taped to the inside of the box lid.
  6. How are you going to disguise those stairs? 😉
  7. Looking at the photo of No 2038 in Essery and Jenkinson vol 3 it appears to me that the reverser is on the right.
  8. Quite right. The two so far on my layout are just over a scale 40'. Not made by me but Physicsman.
  9. Thanks Lez and @Compound2632 Stephen. I've got E&J too. It's just that SE Finecast new instructions from Squires have the bacon slicer reverser on the left.
  10. I am rebuilding a Belpaire Midland Flatiron from a previously glued together SE Finecast kit. Was the driving position changed to lefthand drive on this conversion? Thanks.
  11. It a nice kit and build but are the buffers fixed, Stephen? They look to have a bit of a droop!
  12. The Flatiron was next up. Thanks to advice on the chassis from @hayfield this is how far I had got today. The coupling rods have been fettled but were not put back for the photos. It will have sprung buffers to the rear. The cab roof isn't fixed until a crew go in. I need to source a Belpaire back-head to cover up the hole the X04 motor would have filled. At least all six driving wheels are in contact with the track!
  13. I did bump my last car on the rectory gatepost.
  14. Now you're talking. Used to have one occasionally with school milk (pre-Thatcher) at morning break. No worries about obesity then, or tooth decay.
  15. Al la Steve Fletcher - Repair Shop fame.
  16. I quite agree Graham. I was just pointing it out for the benefit of your other reader. I've a Youchoos one where I have managed to detach two wires from the decoder and don't relish the prospect of soldering them back onto their micro-small pads.
  17. Delighted that you've solved the 1P problem. BTW the Bachy sound is no match for Youchoos.
  18. Have you tried taking the decoder out and running it on DC? I don't know if you can with factory fitted sound though.
  19. Thanks for the heads-up on Bachmann 1P spares. Last time I looked there weren't any when the spares website was first set up. I might order a bogie with pick-ups to improve the running of my kit-built 1Ps that don't have stay alives.
  20. More work today on 1247 has just about seen the body work finished. The safety valve cover has been changed for the turned brass one I found and the WM chimney replaced with a lost wax brass one. A load of lead has been put into the firebox/boiler. I've soldered sprung buffers to the rear beam as they help with Dingham couplings. The heads will have to wait until she is painted before fixing. Next to wire up the chassis.
  21. It's Scalescenes boiler house.
  22. Do you have to have a line for the post? If it's a Monday, then go for it, but it could be another day.
