  1. Nice job Grahame, so far I cannot tell the scale, I am presuming 2mm again but you have to look hard.
  2. Wait till you get the whole back catalogue that way - postie will be pleased with that parcel to deliver
  3. until

How can you review an event that hasn't occurred yet, or do you possess a time machine I think perhaps this was meant as a review of the magazine
  4. So that's just two days to the start of the Xmas sales when the coat I purchased yesterday will be half price.
  5. Lol - I know they look a little different to UK trains but nothing to be scared of.
  6. @Phil Parker I followed these steps to take the lifting roof off my Bachmann crane in step 4 to use to add as a roof to my bits of Hornby coaches in 8 as shown. Are you now saying that that was a mistake?
  7. Bachmann finally sell the last of their Chocolate and Cream Mk1s
  8. I think we all expected some form of follow up - there are other models in the Hornby line up that could have lent their CADs to Arnold for more units - VEP, BIL, HAL Who knows what could have come if those had been released in N, maybe Bachmann would be reducing their EPB
  9. Haha - when I first read this in preview I thought somehow that the real APT and Pacers shared some coupling technology
  10. Final invoice has been raised so the wagon is on the way I see I've got my 5% discount but I've had to pay two lots of post and packing so I end up paying more overall than 2 wagons with no discount. I feel a little cheated here as I did order both at the same time and Rails did indicate they would fulfil orders in one go where more than one item has been ordered. I'll wait on the final invoice and see what happens. @Oliver Rails is it right I should pay two lots of postage on a single order that should have been fulfilled in the Spring and it is now December.
  11. https://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/locations/romney_place_u107sjb0uww/?country=uk&arriving=201912021000&leaving=201912021300 Parkopedia also says 5.00 for three hours so it sounds like the parking company have their wires crossed.
  12. @TEAMYAKIMA at least your diversion wasn't about crowds, rucksacks, lack of bargains, the weather, car parking or smells. To me it read "how do I build on my successful exhibit at Warley", nothing wrong in asking that on this thread.
  13. And if you like Man on Fire, Sicario is a good watch. And to see Robin Williams in a serious role - Awakenings Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood Everything must go - Will Ferrell is a more touching role Man on the Moon - Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman
  14. Who remembers this Cool show, lots of stuff to see if you watched it long enough.
  15. Does anyone know what time the test card is on these days
  16. I know, it was said in jest but I omitted the smiley, I laughed at it but that never shows in a post does it
  17. I think the letters GWR go some way to gaining invites and although 7mm it may not occupy the space Beijaio does. That said Beijaio has everything a typical large modern image model railway would have - lots of trains, sound, passenger, freight, shunting, multiple exit points. There is a similar Australian layout that's been on the circuit a few years, I wonder where that has been as it would be a good pointer to where Beijaio could go next.
  18. And it has at least 2 invites for 2020 - London Festival of Model Railways and Railex - so that's another 4 days. Have you looked at Perth and Model Rail Scotland, certainly the latter like overseas layouts. I think you have to expect a slow burn for this model railway - the return on your time will be a marathon not a sprint. A relative has written and published a book, it took 12 years for him to complete it, a friend reckons it will take him 15 to complete reading it.
  19. Hornby have shown themselves to be savvy when it comes to getting models into the marketplace at the right time. The budget 66s at the same time Hattons are developing their super detail version, the Terrier ahead of Rails/Dapol version, a Rivarossi Big Boy as one is being steamed in the US. I bet if DJM had got the APT to an EP that Hornby would somehow resurrected it's model just before it was released.
  20. Would fitting stay alive capacitors not be a better method. Battery operated lighting strips - one per coach or one per train - the former a lot of batteries to replace, the latter you have to wire the whole train together. Track powered lights with a capacitor would overcome flicker would it not?
