  1. excellent! looking forward to more updates. I recently noticed this addition to the CRS website. any use? http://www.cornwallrailwaysociety.org.uk/uploads/7/6/8/3/7683812/3831417_orig.jpg
  2. great thread. thanks again Gordon. I'm also interested in Ray's post above to clarify as I'm coming to ballasting soon on my own layout.
  3. have a look at Gunheath on the Carbean branch, as well as a section of the jetties at Fowey. I'd love to do a layout based on either of those locations. Gunheath in particular would have lots of operational interest and could be adapted for a small space.
  4. dunno about others but I for one cannot wait for this track to be painted and ballasted.
  5. just noticed that despite following this thread for a long time, I've never posted! fantastic trackwork, truly an inspiration. whenever I've found it hard going on my tiny layout I've thought of Eastwood Town and shamed myself into working harder. I always look forward to new updates on your progress and I wish you all the best with it.
  6. very nice progress! nice as well to see a layout based on my neck of the woods. will be following this one.
  7. big fan of circular layout design here. if only I had the room!
  8. ^^^terrific Waverley West. everything really comes together brilliantly in that shot.
  9. ^^^the 310 and the class 85 in post #109 are definitely models. you can't fool me!
  10. another vote for the Class 377 Electrostars please, except this time in OO.
  11. wow, you've outdone yourself there Sandhills. brilliant!
  12. congrats. always nice to get the training and checking out of the way and just get down to work. well, for the next six months till your next check anyway!
  13. fantastically clean, right out of the box! http://www.cornwallrailwaysociety.org.uk/uploads/7/6/8/3/7683812/5015906_orig.jpg
  14. ^^^I think that last pic captures the wet/damp look very well.
  15. not quite up to South Wales, but I like the Newquay branch. you'd have, goods, coal, clay, local, express and holiday traffic (don't think there was any milk or agricultural expresses), but all with a picturesque single-line and with a choice of small-ish stations.
  16. another big thank-you for taking the time to upload this brilliant collection. my limited knowledge of railways is confined to GWR/WR stuff, and I know very little about the other regions and companies. however, reading through this thread from start to finish I'm now able to identify an awful lot more locos (and locations!). I've enjoyed trying to guess the loco before reading the caption, and by the end of the thread I was getting most of them right. I will have to frequent your flickr pages now.
  17. Sandhills, can't you at least stick a Lego mini-figure in front of your locos to make us feel a little better? jk, fantastic work. very inspirational.
  18. some of the weathering and ageing touches on here are truly brilliant. great thread.
