  1. Midland Railway livery sample in the Members lounge at Warley today. Looks stunning. Hopefully someone will post a few pics later.
  2. I've been badgering Hornby for years to do the A4 in post war LNER condition without valences and with the stainless steel numbering / lettering. After they did the apple green version last year it's the only A4 livery yet to be covered by the new tool version. I guess Bittern is the best candidate for conversion but it'll have to come down in price before I consider going ahead.
  3. For what it's worth, I'll probably get a set in GNR livery for my Single / GN Atlantic / N2 / J52 etc., but I'll also be getting an SECR livery set for my C, D, H, and P classes and a set in LBSCR livery for my Brighton locos.
  4. The livery is good for the Great Northern but the beading style and curve of the roof are not typical GNR standards. But as the OP suggests, they are generic, non company specific. I guess you either accept the inaccuracies or build some kits or wait to see if Locomotion Models fulfil their proposal to do some prototypical RTR GNR stock.
  5. Excellent ! Been looking forward to this since missing out on the first release.
  6. Surely not 'In the shops next week' I thought they were all sold out to pre-orders.
  7. They already have the 'first engineering prototype' (does this mean 3D print ?) so work is obviously well advanced.
  8. I'll probably have 2 or 3 but not going to commit until they give a price estimate Just seen the sub £200 bit. Rails website just says TBA
  9. Because producing a set of carriages unique to the SECR for their P class would have a very limited market. This thread has made 28 pages in 4 days. (Is that a record ?) I'm guessing Hattons are covering more bases, keeping more modellers happy (your good self aside ) and maximizing profits.
  10. Looking at the drawings, the style of panelling seems to be the same as Stoudleys four wheelers for the LB&SCR. Stange that this livery is not covered in the three batches of models.
  11. These will look far better and more prototypical than anything I could produce from a kit and cost far less, so count me in for several sets in various liveries. Well done Hattons
  12. You're right of course. My mistake. I couldn't remember when Dapol Dave became DJM. Apologies to Dapol for any offence.
  13. Yes. Manufacturing fault. See posts starting 29th August on this thread.
  14. Wires crossed here I think. The N Gauge 142 was brought up in relation to Dapol delays in production. The bad / non running issue was I think a reference to the OO gauge 14xx done by Dapol for Hattons. Back to the O gauge 14xx now ?
  15. Looks like they've sorted the mould seam lines on the boiler top that the earlier samples had. My Autocoach is waiting patiently for a Great Western liveried example.
  16. Just to clarify, because I feel your last sentence is a little ambiguous. The Peco box vans in L&B or Southern livery are accurate in height, width and length according to dimensions published in 'The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Measured and Drawn' by Stephen Philips. The only real compromise is in gauge, to enable them to run on OO9 track. OO gauge figures on the other hand, in my experience, tend to be often 'over scale'
  17. The tender on that thing's got more wheels than any loco on my layout.
  18. Not to mention chicken sheds, cottage extensions and out-houses For me, the D30-34 were the first mass produced standardized coaching stock the LBSCR produced. They're perfect for the Terrier and can be modified either by the purchaser or Dapol themselves to reflect suburban or mainline use (buffer length) or the various lighting permutations (oil, gas or electric) Can't wait !
  19. I visit several toy/train collectors fairs each year and never cease to be amazed at the astronomical prices being asked for, what to my eyes, is junk. Each to his own i guess.
  20. Last I heard these were due this month. Anybody had any more recent news ?
  21. A little disappointing regarding the droplights, especially as it was noted on here March 2018. However, reducing the top and bottom frames with a file, and replacing the glass would improve things. Touching up the paintwork on the teak versions may tax my painting skills though. Shouldn't have to do it on a £250 coach though.
  22. 4 more just announced by Gaugemaster for the Horsham and Chichester areas. 4mm and 7mm.
  23. They have done some limited editions from the Brighton area for Gaugemaster.
  24. Hattons have these on pre-order for £192. Seems like an absolute bargain to me. (Usual disclaimers etc)
