  1. So that's 9 liveries suggested in just 12 hours of posting. Don't hold your collective breaths chaps.
  2. I'll believe it when I get the email from Rails saying my pre-order has been dispatched.
  3. Yes, my orders in for one of each livery. For a 20 mile line that only existed for 37 years, the RTR boys have sure been kind to us L&B modelers
  4. Good call on the C12. For my money the most hansom of tank engines. I'd also throw the J6 in the mix (no Great Northern bias what so ever ) as a long lived freight engine.
  5. Very true, but I'll bet Hornby will make exceptions to their tier system if they think it will benefit their bottom line.
  6. Heljans ads can get a bit ahead of themselves. We're still waiting for the OO9 Lynton & Barnstaple Baldwin that their ads claimed was available last autumn. Their website may be more helpful.
  7. Waiting to see the LNER livery sample before deciding whether or not to get one. I like it. It's quirky and unlike anything I currently own, but with a Caley, a Precedent, 2 D classes and a couple of handfuls of Genesis coaches due soon, this one might have to wait a while .
  8. I thought they looked a bit 'Germanic'. Would have considered a few, if it were not for the ill fitting windows.
  9. For me, the shadow on the bottom of the handrail in front of the smoke box is way to light for it to be black. It's far lighter than the shadow on the cabside handrails which are undoubtedly black. Also, the sun in the photo is coming from the upper left, yet as the rail goes round to the smoke box door, it gets darker. Black is the darkest colour, so the handrails on the boiler sides must surely be lighter in colour. I know livery regulations state handrails should be black but I think this particular member of the class is a rare exception. Just my opinion. (Never thought I would find myself disagreeing with 'The Muz' on matters Southern )
  10. Roof profile and rounded corners to the panelling aside, the Hattons GNR coaches do look very good and quite 'believable'. By comparison, the Hornby effort looks rather toy like IMHO. I have purchased the Hornby versions in 3 other liveries, and been happy with the product, but Hattons will get my money for the GNR stock.
  11. Damn it, anyone know where can I get 600 quid from .
  12. If there was such a thing, the moderators would have worn it out long ago.
  13. Probably been said already, but Dapol have made some excellent selections when choosing their O gauge subjects. Hattons LNER pacifics look great but how many people have the space for a prototypical rake. One of these, an auto coach and a milk tanker and you've got all you'll need for a typical GWR rural branch line. Same with their Terrier and forthcomming Stoudley four wheelers.
  14. Thanks for the info. Just got an email from Hattons, who say 7S-018-003 is SR lined black. Given the duties for a B4, black would make more sense, but just to be on the safe side, I'll wait for livery samples before pre-ordering.
  15. Obviously his choice, but after 4 weeks and 10 pages of posts, I'm surprised Hattons Dave has not responded. Perhaps the title and placing of the OP in the Hornby section means he is unaware of the thread ?
  16. Good choice for Dapol. And they already know which liveries will sell from their OO gauge version. May get a Southern black one to go with my Terrier if they do that livery.
  17. Not sure Model Rail are doing anymore of these, having moved on to other projects. Perhaps Dibber25 could maybe shed more light ? Depending on the terms of the contract with Bachmann, they may appear in Bachmanns own range in future as the GN Atlantics and Midland Compound did from the NRM exclusives, and the LMS twins from Rails .
  18. I believe that is how Bachmann branded it. Probably because it is not a true scale replica but a facsimile of Woody Bay (and a few other L&B stations.)
  19. Have you tried The Lynton & Barnstaple Shop ? The last time I saw one of their stands at a show (admittedly a year ago now ) they had them for sale. It would probably be at full RRP (£59.95 ?) but you would be supporting the L&B in their attempts to extend their line.
  20. They've done Southern (Terrier) GWR (several) and LMS (Jinty) so it must surely be the turn of the LNER. C12 for me please.
  21. I'm guessing Hattons will have lost sales to Hornby for the LB&SCR stock. I wonder if it would be possible / prudent to switch from the painted mahogany livery to the earlier varnished wood livery as in the photo in the first post of this thread. They're already 'teaking' the GNR versions. Could they take the teaked versions and switch them to the LB&SCR production line for logos crests and numbers ? Is this possible ? Or am I being stupid ?
  22. According to Heljan adverts in the model railway press, this loco is 'available now'
  23. Put my order in back in Feb 2018 for the 'as built'. Very impressed with the livery sample. Wonder if Hattons will bring their Genesis Caledonian coaches forward from batch 3 to capitalize on the release. Hope so
  24. But if you look at the boiler dome in the second pic, the green is almost the same as the tender back on the first pic. Direct sunlight has a warmer colour temperature than shaded sunlight, hence the blue cast of maunsell green in the second pic. Anyway, back to the D.
