Hi Recieved my 08 yesterday and mostly pleased with it. I just wonder on some parts that have got through the design phase. Eg the lack of wipers as already mentioned but what the heck is that thing thats supposed to be a vac pipe, its nothing like apart from its curved. I dont mind replacing it but why? That said i cant wait to get some wagons and a shunting plank
  4. Hi PhilAll the signals are working now but apart from what i see on the 3 screens i cant tell u much more. I've been working it since monday morning and was lucky enough to signal the 1st trains on the new system including the new banking arrangements at bromsgrove. I am a Saltley signalman but im 1 of 4 (at the moment) signalmen that cross cover the bromsgrove panel as at the moment there are no rostered siganalmen for the workstation. Saltley sigs take over responsability for bromsgrove from june next year.
  5. Hi Hope you dont mind me posting this in your thread but i thought you would like to see what Abbotswood looks like to a signaller as of this week.
  6. 37219 about to depart the wmsc today towards tysley with 1Q48 ex derby rtc
  7. Thats not quite true either. When they run to kingsbury they are running as X loads and can only do 20mph thro Wilnicote station and the opposite line has to be blocked. So could be a tad annoying on a regular service. The time they are booked to reach kingsbury isnt the best time with other services into and out of the yard so there may be some late running so perhaps more photo ops ☺

  9. I see you went via the really dark side snowhill rather than new street. Was waiting to signal you on my panel (washwood heath in the wmsc) thinking that id have at least one proper train to signal lol
  10. Sorry but thats not the one i mean. It was green and was scrapped 20 odd years ago. But thank you
  11. Hi Just wondered if anyone has a picture of the janus that was on the Llangollen railway 25 years ago. Before i started as a signalman i was employed at Llangollen and the janus was my fav loco to drive. 1 of the 2 models ive ordered will be painted to suit. But as it was a little before the digital age i cant find a picture of it and my memory might remember the colours used it dont remember what was painted in that colour. Thank you for any help
  12. There are times these days we couldnt manage the service to derby with out the slows. We quite often have a class 6 waiting on the slows to follow a passenger with a class 4 coming main line to follow the 6 from kingsbury. Also if a passenger service is late from derby we can regulate via the slows so we can get the late in front of on time or on time in front of late which ever control want to get. As to late night use there are some services booked for route knowledge also if they are early and we have a line block on fast the slows r a good bet. There are also certain services from/to derby that get relief at coleshill so have no choice but to use slows. I will say when im on panel and i think i can get away with it, i beast stuff mainline (6m08 at nite is a fav as only going to washwood) with the flashing aspects onto park or down goods at waterorton it usualy works lol
  13. Nice to know the delay wasn't Saltley's fault for once. Tho we do try to keep stuff moving. Even if its a bit like playing snooker with the signals. It ll b a bit easier when they get the 2 goods back in action for getting stuff in to heartlands. Also nice pic of my last box severn bridge i dont think in all the time i was there i bothered getting a nighttime pic.
  14. Its there to protect the junction, not a strange place at all. There must be wrong direction moves of left most platform that uses the crossover to come on to track where 105 is. If that crossover is reverse the locking wouldnt allow the junction to be used in reverse as well.
  15. Rather mundane duties and slightly over powered 6M56 this afternoon
  16. Two ends of same train. I know which end i think looks better even if they look Bachmann fresh out the box
