  1. Using killing and guns in the same sentence seems unfortunate
  2. To announce an announcement so far in advance, I'd be surprised if it was just to reveal new 00 stuff. A reorganisation, merger or major change in direction perhaps?
  3. Trains running at excessive speeds (especially around right angled bends, as above).
  4. It's the Dr Beeching set, complete with no trains in sight, rusting rails, crumbling platforms, and trees growing in the 4 foot......no wait, that's the Southern 2018 set I'm thinking of.........
  5. 31468 and 601 top and tail a Bletchley- Bedford service on 5th July 1999.
  6. Indeed, wagons did go missing, and my mother-in-laws father was employed by the Great Eastern and then the LNER to travel the system tracking down strays and arranging for their return to use.
  7. Went to a party there once. Terrible, hardly any atmosphere (That "joke" is currently awaiting a telegram from the Queen...)
  8. I think Royal Mail won't initiate refunds for 20 days if items go missing, so it doesn't seem unreasonable if Hattons wait for a similar period when using DPD, who I've always found to be excellent. If it were some of the other couriers, I'd be checking hedges, bins, under next door's cat etc by now, regardless of the computer tracking.
  9. I'm keeping out of this. I know my plaice.
  10. Lancs v Hants at Aigburth, Liverpool, June (?) 1984. 1st day of 3. Gordon Greenidge stopped Paul Allott in his run up as he couldn't concentrate due to the disturbance behind the bowlers arm. Approx 15 mins were lost due to "Red Arrows stopped play".
  11. Hattons etc will have a plethora of them.
  12. Some snaps: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/2251/entry-20777-barking-barclay/ In the brief run it's had so far, not quite as free running as the P straight from the box, but it's early days yet.

    Barking Barclay

    Another cracker from Hattons
  14. Someone else with an IOM loco on a trailer! It has to be done. One day, it will replace the bus on a bridge as the layout cliché.
  15. 37s or D6700s never carried discs Over 100 40s did though.....
  16. I really should take the camera up there rather than relying on phone snaps.
  17. Apologies for poor phone snaps. "Bluebell" meets "Kissack", which isn't huge itself.........
  18. Just a variation. For example, there were a lot of black ones visible from the Esk Valley line near Danby, Lealholm etc about 20 years ago, when I used the line regularly to get to NYMR. Don't forget that the ancestors of virtually all pheasants in UK have been release from captivity for shooting at some stage, with some selective breeding along the way.
  19. A couple of snaps from my Aunty's kitchen window in rural Wiltshire today. A max of 18 Tree Sparrows during the week.... She often has the Tree Sparrows nesting in the garden, about 10 feet from her bedroom window!
  20. Very impressed with it. Looks excellent, runs v nicely, romping round almost silently on 3 coaches and a van without any apparent effort.
  21. Some snaps :http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/2251/entry-20696-ill-have-a-p-please-bob/
  22. Don't hang around, they'll be off very soon, I'd imagine. There were 4 in Topsham cemetery on Monday. Keep an eye on these blogs. https://www.devonbirds.org/news/bird_news/devon_bird_sightings http://www.wildlifeindevon.org.uk/pages/sightings.htm
