Here’s my latest video a ‘how to’ converting OO gauge wheels to EM Paul
-
I was going to get one of them, is it worth it? Paul

Mmm up to now 👀🙄

Hi Lez thankfully the diesels seem pretty straightforward, tge gear puller is pretty good although I might see what other types are out there as it’s smears good to have a mixture. Ive finally, after many years of modelling, got a full rake! All converted and ready to go to. Paul

Cheers Mike what am I missing 👀

It’s a great feeling 😃👍🏼 I’ve pulled the wheels out using a pinion gear puller, there’s quite a few types out there, Mike (Enterprisingwestern) has been a huge help in pointing me in the right direction with what I needed, and I already had this BTB gauge from my previous venture into EM, hope this helps. I’ll be doing a video hopefully tomorrow showing how I convert a 40. Paul

Now I wasn’t sure this would work but I thought it’s nothing lost and what harm can it do. So thins morning I pulled the original Bachmann cl40 wheels out to EM gauge standard and surprisingly it works! First ever, albeit not much of a move, movements on ELJ EM. Paul

A bit more work carried out on the diamond today the third vee is also fixed into position. I’ve also re-gauged both Peaks and AL6’s. Paul

Here’s the latest short video

Latest progress, track work has continued and I’m really happy with what I’ve got done so far and the first loco has been re-gauged Paul

Managed to prep some rail with chairs last night which is a good job really as I only got about an hour modelling time today. The first common crossing is complete and I’m working towards the trailing crossover now. Must admit I do find the exactoscale check rail chairs great to use Paul

Abbotswood and Norton Junctions - layout build

This is the slippery slope Phil, in a years time you’ll be P4!!!!! 😂 Paul -
Yesterday I managed to get all the remaining timbers and sleepers glued down and painted, I also made the first two vee’s. Today I’ve got the first 60’ section of track down and the first stock rail which allowed the first two vee’s to also be fixed into position. Hopefully I can get more chairs threaded tonight so I can crack on in the morning getting the rail fixed into position. Paul

With half term over and still off with the toe I cracked on with staining the new board of which I’ve used 12mm rather than 9mm this time. The new Templot is also now stuck down and I’ve done a new video although it’s just a quick one covering what’s gone on over the last couple of weeks but does show photos from my earlier efforts. Out with the old and in with the new, I’ve removed all the wiring and point motors today and I’ve started removing the track, which will be used as reclaimed track heading for Fazakerkey PW depot, just need to paint and weather it up. This rake of 30t bogie bolsters and brake van are all re-gauged and ready to go. Paul
