  1. Photo opportunity? Sightseeing for the traincrew? Possibly keeping out of the way of sevice trains eg. a down Gunnislake?
  2. Not to forget the other visitors to Yapperton during the last hour of the show.
  3. Latest information on the exhibition being posted to here: http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/events/14816-TheExeModelRailwaySocietyExhibition
  4. Looking through my books I have found a few with flashes. They weren't there in 1959 and seem to be common (and very clean looking) in 1961 photos. So my guess is that they started appearing on the H Class from 1960 or 1961.
  5. To kick things off, here is one from the Beer Heights Light Railway a couple of weeks ago. Beer Heights Railway 1 (Prisma app) by Tim, on Flickr
  6. This is a thread for photos that have been processed using the Prisma app (or similar app). Prisma processes photos to turn them into 'artwork'. Details of the app can be found here: https://prisma-ai.com/ The great thing about the app is that you can produce images that are reminiscent of traditional railway poster art, with no skill at all.
  7. Yes - the app was developed from research on how the brain percieves art. The app developers basically optimised the process and turned it into a consumer app. I'm wondering if it is worth creating a separate thread for Prisma app art.
  8. Thabk you very much. It's the dreams filter. Although I highly reccomend playing with them all.
  9. This is (was) actually a photo, processed with the Prisma app. The end result is an image that looks more like an illustation or piece of artwork. A humble 150/1 looking proud of itself. Class 150/1 at Penzance (Prisma app) by Tim, on Flickr Editted to make image appear.
  10. No impact on Riverside. That is why it is having to be built in this position.
  11. Doesn't look really bad though. The train doesn't seem to have stopped at the Warren to pick up PWay. From memory of last winter it can be a bit hairier than this.
  12. However if you're a modeller of the Eastern section of the Southern then it's only the second modern attempt at and SECR class (not including the Bachmann N). The LSWR on the other hand seems to be doing very well...
  13. A Network Rail PWay bod told me that when the works are complete the TSR is coming off. I think the works are to remove the risk from turning lorries. When I last went there on Tuesday the road surface had been removed across the crossing.
  14. Very true. This proposal only seems to address the Teignmouth part of the problems. If they're looking to future-proof the route for the next 100 years then they must need to add works to the wall at Dawlish and measures to protect Dawlish Warren. As for putting the lines out to sea - I will be interesting to see the detail (where the devil is alway lurking). Will this mean the route is more exposed to the winter storms (not just the infrastucture but the trains using it)? Have they included something in their proposal to mitigate this?
  15. Apparently three M7 were temporarily at Faversham in 1953 to work a shuttle service to Herne Bay after the floods at the end of January/ beginning of February.
  16. How good this one looks will probably depend on your screen settings - my laptop isn't the best for editing photos on. Inside Didcot Shed by Tim, on Flickr
  17. HST past Langston Rock by Tim, on Flickr Up GWR HST running past Lansgton Rock, Devon.
  18. Nice to have some sunshine at the moment. Lurking at Barnstaple (Junction) Station yesterday morning - a Class 150. Edited to make photo actually appear.
  19. On GWR traincrew diagrams (at least last time I looked at one with an HST on) they are shown as Class 253.
  20. At this rate I'll actually have a layout to run them on by the time they arrive. I wonder if there's a bit of procrastination going on? Keep on putting it off because the birdcage elements look tricky.
  21. Code 75 for finescale refinement, or code 100 so kids can join in and run Thomas?

May as well go code 75. The kids will play with it anyway.

Thomas should still run on code 75 unless its Lima

Of course - once you've found it, you don't need to look through any more boxes...

Normally you would be right. Thankfully I had a brainwave and it was the first and only box I looked in.

  23. As someone who's aspiring to build an SECR area based layout I'm following your layout with interest and taking notes. It all looks really good. Tim
  24. Passed through Crediton today. The footbridge is open to passengers again, the temporary bridge has been partially removed.
