  1. Anyone know which station this is? At or between Carmarthen/Whitland and Haverfordwest?
  2. Thanks Ian. I will do a new thread once I have finished scanning in more negatives and entered the data into my electronic catalogue. I have a couple of thousand more negatives to process, most which have never been printed, they have just been in folders for the past 50 years.
  3. Thanks for the info guys.. I catalogued my photos when I got back from my railrover over 50 years ago from my notebook which was not as accurate as I thought. After comparing my photos with images on the internet i think this photo is cataloged incorrectly. I have it down as 7804 Baydon Manor at Whitland shed but I think it is the yard at Carmarthen. Can anyone confirm this?
  4. I took this shot of a Hall passing through a station on a freight while on a railrover in South Wales dated 23/8/1963. Taken from the train and going by the negatives before and after, I was travelling between Whitland and Neyland. Anyone recognise the station? I wonder where the beer was goiing...
  5. A friend of mine from Carlisle, David Goodfellow, took this at noon today at Kingmoor.
  6. Still unnamed, BR/English Electric Class 55 Deltic No. D9019 at the platform of Newcastle Central Station, on a down express 1A22 on Sunday 18th April 1965. It was named 'Royal Highland Fusilier' five months later on 9th September 1965. It was later renumbered to 55019 under the TOPS scheme.
  7. Definitely in the cutting at Brisco. I have some photos which show the same trees in the background
  8. Although now based in the power box at the south end of the station, they still leave the microphone on these days as well!
  9. Here is a van I saw in march 2016 near the rear of Upperby shed in Carlisle. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/54%C2%B053'05.3%22N+2%C2%B055'12.3%22W/@54.8847915,-2.9208451,435m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d54.8848!4d-2.920091?hl=en

  12. Hi Pagey, Your waste ground used to be sidings. Here is a photo of Class A3 60040 Cameronian stored there in April 1964 along with others of the class. Howie
  13. Here are 3 photos I took en route to Edinburgh from Carlisle in September 1963. Has anyone any idea where on the line they were taken (between Longtown and Hawick). Haulage by by a BRCW Type 2 Class 26/0.
  14. The last train to Silloth 6th September 1964. The tablet is exchanged at Drumburgh Station for the final time....
  15. Again the 'original rise' of the 60s. Three brand new Class 60s, newly delivered from the nearby Brush works, at Leicester Depot on 21st July 1991 60064 Back Tor, 60065 Kinder Low and 60066 John Logie Baird

  17. Hi David, The peaks in J0933 and J1319 are on the down Thames-Clyde - 1S68. The Waverley was 1S64. Howie
  18. In January 1966, I heard that the daily 14MU, RAF Carlisle workers train from Parkhouse Halt to Citadel station was to be withdrawn. I had intended to photo the evening train, which left Parkhouse Halt around 5pm, on most evenings. However, in January and early February it was too dark to take photos, so I only managed to start taking them in late February. My plans were further disrupted by a death in the family at the end of Feb 1966. I did manage to take a few shots before the train ceased, and here is a photo of Ivatt 2-6-0 No. 43000 crossing the Waverly Bridge over the river Eden and passing the entrance to the closed Canal shed in February 1966.
  19. Nice to note they have retained the 'stars' as well as the cast number and nameplates.
  20. Steel trains also ran with Class 40 and Class 50 haulage in the 1960s and 70s....
