  1. Class 37 D6760, later 37705, in Thornaby shed yard on Easter Sunday 18th April 1965. On the right is Class 25 D5153 later 25004
  2. C18743.jpg, Whitehaven train with Carlisle on blind. Probably due to it reversing at Carlisle
  3. The Newcastle area DMUs had their plastic warning flashed stuck on with a black type of glue
  4. In August 1958, Kingmoor Clan 72009 was tested on the Eastern Region, being based at Stratford MPD, though a preference for the Britannias meant that this sojourn was short-lived, lasting only a month. The locomotive was utilised on services from London Liverpool Street to Norwich, Clacton, and Harwich. At first they were mistakenly allocated Class 7 duties, in which the Clans, although capable, were not able to keep to their allotted timings
  5. No more photos from the position where C15424 was taken from. Metal fence on top of the wall now
  6. The accident happened on 23th January and the line was reopened on the 26th. I travelled to London around the 26th and took some photos from the train of the accident. Two shots of 83003, on with coaches. Two shots of 86209 at the bottom of the embankment covered with a tarpaulin. Two shots of a coach on the side of the embankment.

  8. Here are a few more of my Clayton photos. I spent an afternoon by the lineside at Rockliffe (about 5 miles north of Carlisle) in late July 1963.While I was there I took shots of 5 southbound freights. The first was one double headed Claytons D8527 and anon. Then there was a black 5, followed by a type 25. Then in quick succession 2 more double headed Claytons appeared; D8509 and anon; D8505 and anon. The next shot is 6 Claytons on Kingmoor shed on 17th November 1963 I took the next shot of two more Claytons, D8522 and anon on I think Polmadie shed in 1965 Although not Scotland, the last photo of two unknown Claytons is taken at Thornaby shed in the roundhouse on Easter Sunday 18th April 1965. My friend on the right was a James Bond fan
  9. I think it is the 9.50am Edinburgh Waverley - Leeds City which has had Claytons on a few times
  10. Here is a photo I took at Carlisle station on 31 July 1965 of a couple of Claytons D8582 and D8581 double heading a passenger heading south. The Claytons came off at Carlisle and were replaced by Jubilee 45626 so I presume it went down the Settle & Carlisle line.
