  1. Thanks to everyone for the lists of J94 versions. Its going to be hard to choose which one to have...or will it be two or three.
  2. A J94 has no place on my 'blue diesel' layout. But I do like them and (just) remember them at Bickershaw Colliery, plus it looks like its going to be superb model at a sensible price. So is there a complete list of what versions are being produced so I can make my choice?
  3. big job tomorrow, sinfins crewe to carlisle then due to staff shortage its pass back to crewe to work the logs back to carlisle and into lodge! If you need a brew, stop just before Hest Bank crossing and I'll pass you one over the fence.
  4. If it was that good, why weren't any more built?
  5. Stunning. Looking forward to mine arriving.

    Class 07 Diesel

My 07 body is now complete. The transfers need protecting. I've a new rattle can of Humbrol matt varnish. Would that be OK?
  7. Dazzler Fan, that was the same experience I had. Lots of promises, then told proofs had been sent, but I never recieved them, nor the finished product. Glad you got your money back, I didn't. ColinK
  8. If I remember correctly, there were trains on the Bedford - Bletchley line for a while formed of two coaches with a Fragonset 31 at each end.
  9. Any idea where the photo was taken?
  10. Glad to see everyone enjoying the 37s on the Cumbrian Coast line. You must like early starts! I'm going to have another ride next week. Meanwhile, SHMBO wanted a day out, somehow we ended up at Nethertown just as both trains were due.
  11. The connection should work. There are extra staff on the train to help shut doors and stop people getting off at the wtong place at stations with short platforms. I was talking to them yesterday. These people have to make the 5 minute connection at Barrow too. So the train can't go without them.
  12. A pair of 20s on tonights flask train. Perhaps because the 37s are now on passenger work?
  13. Lets hope DRS don't get the driving trailers working, far better for photographs with a loco on each end! I had a ride from Carnforth to Barrow this morning, excellent.
  14. It's looking great. An excllent bit of modelling. Many thanks for the prototype gen too.
  15. Sorry, but you have all got it wrong. The sign indicates where the tension lock uncoupler is located.
  16. Remmber you can use the loco hauled services to get to the Ravenglass & Eskdale railway for a grand day out.
  17. Got to say I had never heard of this loco. Looks like an interesting project. Looking forward to seeing more - I'll have to try and find a pic of the real thing too.

    Class 07 Diesel

Finally, some more progress on my 07 made from a Silver Fox kit. To recap, I had painted it, but then decided to remove the moulded handrails and replace them with wire. The wire handrails are now on, but I've had to repaint much of it. To be honest, I've made a bit of a mess of the painting (old paints, too thick or too thin), but at least I've done it. I've also made new mountings for the Bachmann 03 chassis as the latest one is not a direct fit. The next task is to source transfers for numbers, data panels and double arrows, any suggestions please? They look as if they will need to be a bit smaller than usual. While I'm not happy with the standard of finish, plus my chassis does not run well (it keeps sticking and is currently running on my rolling road to try and ease the problem), I will complete the model. I have enjoyed building it and could well be tempted to build another one, using the experience to produce a much better job. ColinK
  19. That's terriffic Simon, I've only openned the box on my 02 kit (O gauge) and you've managed a whole fleet of locos that look good and run well. Well done too for persevering with that paint job. You could have a new career building locos for people. Colin
  20. Will the sound version include an announcement 'the train has broken down, please alight and wait for further information'?
  21. Rivetting stuff. That Dutchess is an amazing bit of modelling. How about bringing it over to the UK so we can see it? I guess you are not planning to fit a working smoke generator?
  22. Perhaps its clockwork, controlled by a DCC chip! Hat, coat and carden shaft, i'm off to bed.
  23. Although I model the blue diesel era, I have to say I'm tempted by the Stirling Single. It would look great hauling my Bachmann Inspection saloon round my layout. The only question is, do I paint my inspection saloon green to match the loco, or paint the Single BR blue with full yellow ends to match my inspection saloon?
