  1. Wow, you made that 02 quickly - looks good. I've also got an 02 to build, but not started it yet?
  2. Darjeeling B class in 0-16.5?
  3. I too have had problems with Peter Blackham. I paid him for some bespoke nameplates which, despite many promises, never arrived. Never got my money back either, just loads of waffle. Will never use him again.
  4. Looks great, excellent bit of modelling.
  5. Morning, just home after long shift driving rail replacement coaches. Time for bed.
  6. Brilliant model, brilliant video. Refreshing to see a manufacturer with a great sense of humor. Good to hear the sound, especially after Bif talked about it at Ally Pally. Can't wait to recieve mine.
  7. I too had a long chat with Graham at Ally Pally, I'll be getting my 511 upgraded in due course. Nb one of the big benefits of attending Ally Pally was the opportunity to talk to suppliers.
  8. On holiday in London. Waiting to catch the train from Abbey Wood this morning when the announcer said 'stand back on platform 2 as the next train is not stopping'. Just managed to get these pics on my phone.
  9. Amazing to see them at Frodsham, what were they doing there?
  10. The AM4's (304s) certainly used to bounce and rock & roll, but that can't be it as they wereemu's.

    Class 07 Diesel

Very nice. My 07 is still progressing, albit very slowly.
  12. Pacific 2-3-1 by Honneger is approproate when running your railway.
  13. Nice, I like the tram/bus depot to use the space behind the yard.
  14. I hope you will make the flailers working, with the amount of flail (if that's the correct term) increasing with the amount of loco thrash. Remember, nobody hanging out of the windows in the 'full dining' section, as those passengers are always more interested in the nosh than motive power!
  15. Shame, how about a RM web open day?
  16. Saw the Scarab working - amazing, fantastic piece of madelling. Driver needed more practice though
  17. I've always used meths and a rag to clean the rails. It's worked fine for me for 30 years.
  18. I thought a preserved one in blue livery was used on the construction of the channel tunnel (or rail link to it).
  19. You can pour it into small odd shaped nooks & crannies and fix it in place with glue. Works well. If you've got lots of space eg inside box van, you can glue anything in, I've used old nuts and bolts.
  20. There are temporary road signs in Kendal, "Road closed for 5 days, delays likely'. I wonder who will sit there for 5 days waiting for the road to reopen?
  21. Yup, I was driving the bus on the bridge today. On the Settle to Skipton bus service just north of Hellifield when a Pacer went underneath. I also saw the southbound log train near Settle Junction, but missed the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express as I didn't think my passengers would have appreciated waiting an hour for me to get a photo.
  22. I certainly agree, Diesels in the Highlands is a superb album. Unfortunatly, I don't think Transacord have found the orignal recordings (yet). Glad I still have my LP.
  23. One guy at Kendal Show today was a candidate for lynching. He was well dressed, clean, odour free and his backpack was sufficiently small to be acceptable. However he clearly had the nasty cold/flu bug which has been circulating around the area for ages, as demonstrated by his coughing and sneezing. A great way of clearing other visitors from around layouts so he got a good view, but I wonder how many operators now have his germs.
  24. Jim, have you thought of trying the Train Tec lighting strips? They are battery powered so you don't need any wiring and use motion sensors to turn on and off. I've got one to fit in my 153 when I get a break from work. ColinK
  25. Many thanks for posting this, a really innovative solution. I might try something similar for my next 0-16.5 layout.
