  1. That looks great, not too glossy a finish. I'm very glad I placed an order and hope that the BR one is just as good. As a matter of interest though, are the three variants going to be released together or one after the other, and if the latter, what order are they being released in?
  2. I'm getting bored of this referendum thing.

  3. Now if the RTR manufacturers made the models from the factory with those finish's then I'd be a lot poorer! Just wish I currently wasn't so poor as to not be able to afford 5 of these!

I think most of us would wish for more money, but then Id spend it on locos and I'd be back to square one again...

  5. For the wagons, would there be a set price which you'd like to see per wagon, or is it whatever is offered?

  7. Another update - in the space of 4 days! I'm doing very well at this! It is however, not an update on the sentinel, rather another flight of fancy (what on my workbench isn't?). Basically, it started off as the use of a Hornby 4 wheel coach as a test coach as it were to see how good I was at repainting coaches into BR carmine and cream - as I have a couple of Hornby Railroad teaks which I'd like in said livery. However, once that was done, I decided that it actually looked quite good in that livery, so decided to paint the other three coaches I have into BR livery - although not all are finished yet (in fact only the first has had its paint job done and I haven't got any transfers yet. The other big change I made to one of the coaches was the filling of two windows on each side of one of the coaches to represent a brake coach. This was done with just plain filler - and the remnants of filler around one end are where I managed to fill in windows at the opposite end to the set on the other side! I apologise for the picture quality
  8. School starts tomorrow... So typically I'm not doing any prep and am repainting some coaches instead!

  9. Thanks - I'm sort of hoping it'll move along a bit faster now all of the structural alterations are done - although the windows may take some time...
  10. I have now finally got to the point where I feel that I can post an update on my sentinel build. Admittedly, some of it was done over a month ago and I just never got round to writing an update! Any way, all of the doors are now on to the railcar. Four of these were done in the same way as the ones in the previous update, with the gap cut out of the coach and the door stuck in the gap. However, because of the more fragile nature of the part of the coach which these doors had to be fitted in (the area under where the window frames used to be) I had to fit the new section of wall that fits between the doors first and leave it to dry - to try and retain rigidity. The doors at the 'non-engine' end of the railcar weren't indented so all I had to do was create the upper half of the door and glue it into the window space, which made life a bit easier. The pictures below suffer from the classic problem of a camera highlighting many different issues, but the rough looking windows really don't look too bad in real life and from a normal viewing distance
  11. Another faulty update uninstalled. My computer may be hacked but at least the internet works again!

  12. That green livery does sit well on the 9F doesn't it. Not so sure about the nameplate though - looks a bit odd to me in that colour - should have been done in the same style as Evening Stars...
  13. One annoying thing about having a C1 on order - the amount of plans that stack up whilst I have no funds for them!

  14. Ah, OK. I assumed that they had due to them surviving into 1950 - although I'm no BR livery buff so I don't know even whether the early was around then! Thanks though for the info
  15. I'm planning on ordering one of these in BR livery - though the cost might impede on some other projects, not that I'm complaining - this is a model I'm not going to miss! My question is though, is the BR version going to be as shown in the picture with "British Railways" on the tender, or with an early crest?
  16. They look really good Nelson - I particularly like the weathering on the LNER wagon. It's not overdone and looks very effective
  17. What to do... I've got one project on the go needing cash, one waiting to start - and needing lots of cash, AND I really want a C1 - nut that would take up montths of spending :(
