    For the black headcode can I suggest painting a piece of waterslide decal black and then cutting to size? All you have to do is position it in the right place, much easier than trying to paint it in situ.

    I'd suggest tweaking the track on the second board, then giving the whole thing a thorough playing with, sorry test, before starting to ballast - it is a lot easier to tweak copperclad track before it is painted and ballasted.

    Don't fiddle with it Pete, in 2mm it is so easy to overdo the texture. I think you have got it spot on as it is. You can always add a little shadow when you are weathering it - but you can't take away too much.
