Hi Dave,
I have just stumbled on this thread and I will look forward to the progress, which, if any of the previous ones are to be admired, then I am certain this will provide us all with more inspiration.
After my move some of the boxes are steadily making it from the garage to my modelling room one of which just happens to contain these...
The Scorpio kit certainly looks do-able and even has a pre-rolled boiler ... YAY !

Dave,
I've found the one ( just one so far ! ) that I made about 6 months ago after looking at the Appreciation website and came up with this....
I just need to build the layout to plonk it on now !

Very much appreciated, no rush though, I've just had confirmation of my house move since I asked you ( next Thursday !!! gulp ! ) and all 7mm items now packed safely away so I couldn't get to my pole even if I wanted to now

Seriously, its one of those sites that become fascinating to read and so useful too.
Just out of interest what diameter are the poles please ? I have only scratch built one from dowelling so far and just interested to see how they measure up.

Hi Dave,
Much like yourself I have wrestled with possibly putting a water tower onto my as yet unbuilt layout.
Hope you don't mind the intrusion with my scratch built effort but its here to show what a 90mm x 105mm footprint would be like basically.
If anyone wanted to be pedantic about the use of a water tower on a branch terminus then there are plenty of discussions elsewhere ( hopefully not on your Blog please ! ) and I am just portraying mine as an example of a smaller ( ? ) tower that would fit.
I don't think you would spoil what is a beautifully modelled layout and also Rule 1 applies eh ?
If you want one and it blends into the scene then I for one say do it, it doesn't look to be spoiling anything by being there.

In retrospect actualI regret not building it from an prototype, it’s a bit of a hotchpotch of different prototypes – although I've recently discovered that it has much in common with Lawrence Hill goods depot if seen from the right angle with one eye closed

Seems one of my favourite subjects / layouts has risen again without suffering too much in the move. That may well be down to your initial build construction and I for one am very pleased to see the Phoenix rise in your new home.

As an aside, surprisingly I knew nothing about Limpley Stoke being reused ( albeit in a private capacity ) until watching your YouTube video, thanks for posting it there, very informative.

I have quietly followed your progress here and it has been well worth it.
As Mallard states, it is good to see some video footage too which brings it all to life.
Congratulations also on your MRJ article which was a most enjoyable and well written piece.

The new buildings look superb.
I couldn't put my finger on it until you mentioned it and now I recognise the signal box, St.Marys Crossing, Brimscombe, lovely little box and nicely modelled too.
My ongoing project will be a country terminus due to the requirements of fiddle yards ( plural ) which could cause unnecessary operations ie - spoil the fun of playing trains.
If your current scheme of Churchill gives you pleasure then maybe stay with a terminus which can be given lots of small details without overpowering the overall scene ?
I always refer back to the blogs of Dave aka Wenlock and his 7mm GWR terminus Sherton Abbas.
Either way I would congratulate you on the alterations to the resin buildings, they certainly set the character of a small GWR station.
I will certainly look forward to future updates on you work.

Following on from your initial description and your last sentence, "Painting complex liveries is so much easier if the sides can lay flat on the work bench! " , I am curious as to your method for glueing the sides and ends together.
My reason for asking is a concern that once you've taken time and patience over the paintwork and lining how do you prevent any glue from " bleeding " onto the final finish ?.
It would be useful to get your thoughts/ method please as it something I have considered prior to making up my kits.
