Totally convincing modelling and understated for all the right reasons, brilliant.
-
Crazy video YEY !
-
There's plenty of atmos around the station and surrounding Teign Valley, the route from Bovey Tracey up to Moretonhampstead is really quite beautiful, and you can still make out the line of the old railway too.
When the weather permits I take my mountain bike over there and get onto Dartmoor in that area and try to ride the old track wherever possible ( sometimes pretending to be a BG loco going up the valley ! Big kid !!! )
I'm aware of the Lustleigh Community archive thank you, it's always useful for various reasons when looking into local history.
Cheers

Hi Dave, I'm definately in agreement with Mikkel and I wouldn't paint in any more detail and clouds either if you are in any doubt don't do it.
You could try a small reproduction of the backscene on a spare piece of board and if you possess an airbrush try using it to attain a lighter cloud effect maybe. Understated would be far better than the use of a brush and possibly overdo it.

Time well spent I'm my opinion, correct use of colour blending into the model and not overstated, yep does it for me very well done.
Big pat on the back, very professional.

Hi Mikkel I hope all is well with you and yours.
Just when I thought it'd all gone quiet
I've just caught up with this build Mikkel and I think you know what I'm going to say !
YEY !!! Crackin' work as per matey.
I'm pleased that you hit upon Lustleigh it's in my top three GWR western regional stations ( not living too far from the village ) . I've often considered modelling it as a broad gauge diorama, tiz proper 'ansome.
I think the York Modelling slates are better in use ( having used them myself too ) especially where a longer roof is required preventing that annoying join if you are using the Wills sheets, which are still a good product I hasten to add.
Look forward to the next instalment

Very impressive results thanks for the descriptive commentary too it's something that could be transferred to other scales I'm sure.
I think you've definately captured the colours of the various varieties.

Nice P4 pencil

Thank you Dom, I really appreciate your postings which are very informative.
Also, far more interesting than the inside of a classroom !

Once again a very informative and interesting read
Thank you

Welcome to the "Two Wires Only" Club enjoy !

Very impressed Mikkel.
Despite the building being rather uninterested from and architectural point of view ( I say that respectfully ) you have captured something in your excellent build.
I'm certain once you've weaved your magic with the painting it will be a credit to you.
Looking forward to the next posting.
Cheers for now

Thanks Dom
As usual a very interesting and comprehensive insight showing the area in which you live and work.
I hope you're well and still enjoying "that" career change, it certainly seems that way

About time too ! What you been playing at keeping us all waiting ?
All joking apart, it's good to see you back with some fresh ideas.
I think you've done the right thing to be honest, in ditching the gravity shunting, it would probably have held your proposals back.
Now you seem to have got that "mojo" back ( I think we've all been there at some point ) this looks likely to be another of your excellent projects.
I don't think there's a loss of pride regarding the turnouts either, that's what we're all here for ( I hope so anyway ) to help each other in some small way.
Do it at your leisure and enjoy what you're doing and I'm sure once it is completed it'll be another small masterpiece.
Still following !

Thanks for the addition of the video, it gives your work some real meaning having "struggled" with the various problems you've faced. Well done !
Now where did I put mine ? Humph ! LOL

Hi Mark,
Hmm, you've prompted me to look out my unfinished Duke, purchased from Howes of Oxford when they resided in Broad Street ( that dates me !).
May I ask which High Level gearbox you've installed please.
Always good to see one of these locos, looking forward to your progress.

Envious ? Not one bit..... You deserve it Tim, thanks for the pictures, it's one I've been seriously wanting to go on for some time but maybe in the warmer weather.
Oh! I see there's some snow on the top may I ask did it get any Wurst ?
Cheers matey.

Love the redness !
I know it seems to be subjective as to the red used to paint the wagons ( on another blog as I type ) but can I ask which type / make you've used on yours please ?
Nothing more than curious as I may be doing something similar in the near future.
