  1. A proper F1 Stock Car, i the days before they put the wings on them which I think look ugly but others like. Richard Bryan is the current 238 and Les Mitchell used to have the number. That car looks like it could be a "Chissy" car but I am afraid I have to admit I am not sure of the driver!
  2. You can edit the original post so it reads what you wanted rather than what the predictive text thinks you should have written.
  3. That has made me hungry! Haven't had one of those for years.
  4. It did not sell for some reason! Maybe the price put people off! Now back on for a starting price of £1,304 and no bids which is hardly surprising.
  5. There are two such replicas on the Mid Hants Railway. One is at Alton and the other at Alresford. I think the one shown is the Alton one.
  6. I hope the bruises and aches heal quickly. A good nights sleep will work wonders with any luck. All the best.
  7. Have you been drinking too much fruit juice?
  8. Even worse is "thetrainline.com"!
  9. Specsavers maybe your friend although possibly ebay would be more friendly!
  10. We look forward to seeing photos of your progress with the loco kit in the next week or two! I am sure you will have it running and painted by the end of next month.
  11. Which explains why they couldn't buy a mower from B&Q in those places!
  12. As well as the public being worried about travelling there is also the problem of how many volunteers would be unable or unwilling to volunteer for duties that in the past they would have been very pleased to fill. I am a guard and TTI on the Mid Hants and would love to be back on the line tomorrow if that was possible but careful thought about the current situation means that it will be some time before I am willing and able to volunteer. The biggest problem being that I live near to Wimbledon and have to use the trains to Alton to get to the MHR. Until travel on National Rail services is back to the situation we had up until February this year I will not be going anywhere as I do not have a car. In the past I did days out to both the Bluebell and the Severn Valley two or three times a year plus annual trips to the North Norfolk and Mid Norfolk lines. This virus has totally ruined my plans for this year and I fear possibly longer.
  13. I fear you could start a problem by having Lancashire and Yorkshire together! I don't think they have ever forgiven each other for the Wars of the Roses.
  14. You missed out the two men waving flags and one man with a whistle plus the xxx number of fans who are supposed to sit down but don't know how to! A lot of the patches of grass are no longer even real grass.
  15. That would mean seven weeks of solid rain more like!
  16. I should have mentioned that I am not bothered about having the lamps working as unless a line has a tunnel during daylight hours you can run with the tail lamp in position but not lit.
  17. My planned layout will be terminus to fiddle yard for the heritage section and fiddle yard to fiddle yard for the National Rail section. Being a volunteer guard I am very aware of needing a tail lamp on the last vehicle of my train. In the past I used to have a tail lamp on all brake vans and did not worry about sometimes having a lamp in the middle of a train but that would worry me a lot now. Does anyone have any clever ideas on how to have them only on the last vehicle? How do you attach and detach them easily? The same question applies to lamps on the front of the train. This mainly going to affect the heritage section as most of the National Rail services will be DMUs which have lights that work automatically although the freight trains will need some looking at.
  18. Measure twice and cut once! Take things slowly, checking everything as you go and you will soon find that woodwork is not so hard as you currently think. When you buy the wood make sure that it is good straight pieces and not some of the twisted rubbish that a certain DIY organisation try to pass off as straight.
  19. You do not need to be embarrassed at all. For a first attempt at a difficult job I think you have done very well.
  20. I am happy to look and then ignore but another member of the family objects so I have to do something to stay on here!
  21. My wife managed two longer than usual walks today but we noticed that the locals are taking a lot less care with the idea of social distancing which is a bit of a worry. Had a cheap Co-op pizza each this evening but added extra cheese and finely sliced onion which really made a difference. Spent all day with the radio on Chris Country and once Women of iHeart Country has finished I will go to Spotify and my Lainey Wilson playlist.
  22. I have never been bothered by the ads before. As Ozexpatriate says they are normally a website you have just looked at but the past six or so weeks it has been solid ladies underwear from sites that I have never looked at or even knew about. While the models were very attractive they were going to cause major problems at home so something had to be done. Well at the moment I appear to have sorted the problem which is good.
