  1. Well here is my first try at something that I think may be of use. The top section with the red tracks is the fiddle yard behind a backscene and the single track station. At the other end is CJF's best, Minories with a couple of extra sidings to make goods trains between the three places possible.
  2. I like the idea of having the two stations and one or two fiddle yards. Personally I would do Minories as one of the stations and then have a single track station in front of the Fiddle Yard with the junction in full view. I think a double track line from Minories to Fiddle Yard with the branch to the second station being single track. I am going to have a play with AnyRail and see what I come up with. I may be a while!
  3. Educational holiday for a 16 year old!
  4. That is so nasty it is not even funny. I note he does not accept refunds! I wouldn't give him a refund whatever he did with that rubbish.
  5. They have had other ladies in the band throughout much of their existence so I should think of them as Maddy and the band but when I first saw them Maddy was the leader and the only lady and Maddy and the boys has just stuck in my mind for the last forty years or so.
  6. Thank you for the link to Maddy and the boys. I have always liked Steeleye Span. I also like The Who so can understand you liking the contrast.
  7. I think you may have over valued them with that comment!
  8. I have had a good day today with a very quick visit to the hospital for my wife to have a blood test followed by an enjoyable evening meal of Pasta with mince, chopped tomatoes and sweetcorn. We then had some ice cream for our sweet. I am getting fed up with the adverts telling me not to use public transport. I know why they are being broadcast but I got rid of my car in 2004 due to the impossible parking situation in my area and have used public transport since then. The authorities push for people to stop using their cars but having followed that I now find that those with a car can go all over the country while I get bombarded with messages on our TfL bus routes about only using them if it is vital and BTP have been around my local National Rail station stopping people from travelling. All of a sudden you are only allowed to go out if you have a car. I even got told by one guy on the bus coming home from a shopping trip that I should be ordering it online and not using the bus. He very nearly got told what he could do with his opinions but thankfully I just ignored him and pretended I had not heard him.
  9. I always find it amusing that we call something that weighs 127 tons a light engine! The PWay guys would not want a heavy engine on their track I suspect,
  10. If the railways are supplying their staff with masks that are only good for 15 to 20 minutes, that means an eight hour shift will require 24 to 32 for each staff member for each shift! Better quality may be cheaper but the accountants probably will expect the staff to use the same mask for a week!
  11. There was one Hornby coach I saw that was £9.99 with no bids. The fact that 2nd class postage from Barnsley was £410.00 may have been part of the reason!
  12. I suspect a case of typing 10.00 and forgot the "."
  13. You can only alter the title if you are the OP so neither you or I can do it.
  14. I have just reported myself to ask for the title to be altered.
  15. If the OP is not able to change the title the only other answer would be to report ourselves to AY Mod and then Andy would be able to sort it out.
  16. When I worked in Platform Two on Wimbledon Broadway in the 70s I had one guy come in with much the same requirements but wanted to do it in 8ft by 4ft with 3ft radius curves! One of my more amusing afternoons followed as I sorted out what he could do in the space he had.
  17. Someone can see a sucker at a long way off!
  18. When I was at school I had a five lane Minic Motorways figure of eight track that I ran three cars on each lane using a transformer for each lane. All the cars were numbered as the then top stock car drivers and it produced some very good racing. In my thirties I got one of the Scalextric Stock Car sets plus a couple of extra cars. I found that I broke the front bumpers rather too easily for my liking and so ironed them up with real metal chassis and bumpers. All was OK until I visited a friend and took my cars to race against his! He landed up with two very smashed up cars and was most unhappy when he found out about the ironwork on my cars which he had not noticed due to it being painted to look like the original plastic.
  19. You must be a very slow eater!
  20. Great track, sadly I only got there twice. A sad loss to both Stock Cars and Speedway.
  21. This sort of banjo? Daughter of the late, great Glen Campbell.
  22. PRI Hot Rods were always good fun even if most of the top southern drivers raced for Spedeworth. I used to write the programmes for Arena Essex for many years and for the last two seasons at Crayford. I note the photos at Arena are with the old post and wire fence which dates them.
  23. One of the main reasons I prefer the Spedeworth Superstox to the BriSCA F2s is that the Superstox have small areofoils rather than the dinning room tables of BriSCA F2. Having said that a large entry of either will produce good racing action and a small entry is normally not as entertaining.
  24. A proper F1 Stock Car, i the days before they put the wings on them which I think look ugly but others like. Richard Bryan is the current 238 and Les Mitchell used to have the number. That car looks like it could be a "Chissy" car but I am afraid I have to admit I am not sure of the driver!
  25. You can edit the original post so it reads what you wanted rather than what the predictive text thinks you should have written.
