  1. So the title maybe a little dramatic but I wondered if anyone could shed any light on what I saw on Saturday lunchtime around 12:40. For those that don't know Casey Lane is just to the South of Crewe right at the entrance to Crewe Basford Hall yard. I parked my car on the east side of the line and walked over the bridge to look to the south and I saw this........... The pendolino was on the up line travelling north very slowly coming to a stop at the ground signal whilst the voyager went on it's merry way north as normal on the down line. I far as I understand signalling which is very very very limited these lines are not bi-directional but the ground signal suggests this isn't unheard of but where did the pendolino come from and any idea why it did what it did? A few minutes later it did continue north once it was able to cross to the down fast and away it went. here's another photo of it crossing.. Nothing serious but i did find it intriguing .........cheers in advance
  2. So a few weeks ago the dust was starting to do my head in and so it was time for a spring clean. I removed everything that was loose and gave the whole layout a hoover..... Well that took 2 evenings (mainly because I didn't know where to put the stuff I was taking off.....lol!!!!!) but the result was a clean layout which looked much better, time to turn back the clock I think Now lets try and get on with some modelling
  3. Sorry Gents, I haven't been on for a while and didn't realise posts had been made Thanks Neil Hi Rob, it's the GWR Ratio kit that is based on Castle Cary I believe........I just added the siding aluminium doors that I remember from my childhood holidays in Teignmouth
  4. Come on gents........someone must have pics of the Pink Panther
  5. Very nice work indeed Phil.......looks really smart
  6. Anyone got any more pictures from yesterday they can share.......would love to see them
  7. I'll be following Reece, my type of loco's
  8. The little plastic blocks inside the cast chassis at the open end (you can see the bogie touching them). I guess they are too wide I attacked them with a scalpel and all is fine now (I only tapered them at the open end), whether I have caused problems elsewhere remains to be seen but so far 37142 is as happy as Larry now on my 2nd radius curve. I didn't take any pics as I just assumed I'd got one with thicker plastic and plus I'm never usually in any position to help anyone
  9. I tend to agree Bill, I found the old site far more user friendly and readable. Thanks for the pics though, the layout looks fab
  10. Pack A arrived yesterday.......what an awesome wagon that is, Thanks
  11. Would love to see this layout Bill, but alas Cornwall is a little too far from Crewe. Hope all goes well and I look forward to some pics
  12. Hi Jim, cool photos as ever, thanks. Are GBRf taking over just the yard or the yard and the depot? Interesting to see the use of and 08 which is contrary to DBC operations, well to a layman like myself it does!!
  13. I tend to agree with you on that. If only they had put the logo halfway between the number and the door.........but hey what do I know
  14. Really liking that Phil, execellent interpretation of the prototype
  15. Can't wait to see the weathering on this bud, a cracking well used example before looking too far gone......lol
  16. That's what I was thinking.....perhaps I need to go to your website Many thanks indeed, I've seen one or two wagons like that in consists to the west country but really haven't found out exactly what they are and whether they are available as RTR. More research I guess. Rivercider did a good photographic record of freight down there in the 80's perhaps I should start there. Top info though, thanks Cheers Trev. I have read Accurascale's website and it does suggest those PCA's may have gone to a terminal in Plymouth (which I didn't know about) and more obviously Exeter Central. It's not like I need more wagons, but hey variety is..........
  17. Liking the deck on that and thanks you've given me some ideas for some decks I need to do
  18. Loads of pics flying around on Facebook, think the old girls have scrubbed up well They seemed to go on a test run last night all over the place, Waterloo, Chessington, Reading and Basingstoke to name a few places........... Well done to the Class 50 Fund and GBRf. Of interest to those that don't know, 50007 is half masquerading as 50014 Warspite
  19. Sad times, loved the New Whitt updates. As you've seen on my thread I like both eras so I'm basing things around the 80's scenery wise and then work with rule 1 when it's modern day Good luck with the house mods and ultimatley the new railway
  20. I did think it was a cement PCA but I never recalled that type ever getting down that way, can anyone shed any light as to where it is returning from? Would that be the same type as the forthcoming Accurascale release? As for the TTA have they ever been available in a RTR form? Apologies if these questions seem a little basic but I've probably missed a few things over the years. Cheers for popping by
  21. Thanks Trev, that's very kind of you, but I still have a very long way to go. I know I have loads of details to add but at the moment I feel it lacks realism and needs a good dose of weathering all over. I'm thinking first about the track and ballast, any suggestions are welcome?
  22. yep looking forward to following this too.....I can smell the diesel already
  23. Cheers Phil Right then gents, I'd like some help with some wagons in a picture. Firstly the picture wasn't taken by me, I would quite happily give credit to the photographer should they want to be identified or even remove it if they were to request so. It's am image that I came accross on Facebook and if possible I would like to identify the first 2 wagons. Cheers in advance
