  1. Nice to see something new on this thread Thanks for sharing. I hear 007's repaint is complete and 49 is currently in grey primer.........
  2. Nice to see you back Trev, although tough news on the work front........know how you feel Good job my layout is west country based........those PGA's look stunning
  3. So after a little bit of rolling stock detailing and weathering I thought it was about time to get back to the layout. Nothing major but it was nice to be adding a few more details..... Firstly I added a hedge with the intention being the LandRover will be on a farmers track from the bottom to the top eventually with a fence on the other side of the track I then added some scatter around the paving slabs around the house footprint to give a more countryside cottage unkept feel And then finally I added some weeds/static grass in the disused trackbed. I may still add some more here although I am still trying to figure out in my head just how bad it would have been in the late 80's when really the layout is based and probably wouldn't have been rationalised that long ago. The research pics I found suggested that the first weeds developed between the rails.........I guess it was the fertiliser Then as it dried I ran some trains....... Thanks for popping by
  4. Hi Al, now if I'd have read this topic earlier I'd had realised you changed your username!!!!!! I had wondered where you were as I had been follower of your other topics and have always enjoyed your very helpful tutorial pics within them. Once again a craking layout and another to follow. Now I must go back to page 7 and continue
  5. Cracking photo's as always. I love your photographic up-dates, so many of them cover places I visited as a kid when trainspotting but sadly I didn't know too much about photography at the time and I didn't get any even half as good as all of yours. Thanks
  6. So first bit of rolling stock detailing this year has been my 153. I remember when they came out and we all called them scuds, seems strange now that I have a certain amount of fondness for them.......... Anyway painting some seats Adding some poorly painted passengers...........good job there are no internal lights!!!! Exhaust painted Followed by a general weathering although now having finished I'm sure Hornby have got the overall roof colour wrong!!! Oh yes, I did also attach the ploughs to the body.
  7. Awesome, love it..............even if it is a spoon
  8. Can we go back in time and run some LL50's please I can't believe you are still going for another layout.............
  9. Cracking layout Cav, it was lovely to meet you and for you to spend some time generally chatting while the trains went by
  10. Another area that did progress over the last few months was right on the edge of the layout, large enough for a few sheep and an embankment However after looking at a number of layouts and chatting to people at Stafford yesterday I feel the clump foliage needs removing and I need to enter the world of polyfibre..........Thanks Mike for the advice Thanks as ever for popping by
  11. Hi Peter, I've been lurking on your topic for quite some time now and it's always looked good. I'm pleased with what I've achieved but I feel everything could all be a lot better. I'm only just down the road from you and I don't feel I get to any coasts at all these days now. I did however do a Cheshire Day Ranger just before the New Year taking in the Class 67 around Helsby, Warrington and Manchester Pic...........that was an enjoyable day Why thank you very much indeed although I fear I have a long way to go still
  12. Nice to meet you today Ian, thanks for the time to chat and for giving Mike the time to give me a master class Cracking layout indeed
  13. So I suppose in terms of other updates I did actually get my Falcons/MOA rake loaded with ballast.........this being an update from post #168 really. More astonishing is with the rear lamp addition I can probably say I've actually finished a rake of something!!!!!!
  14. That looks really nice Phil Maybe not as good as a GBRf 50 though
  15. Hi Mick, Happy New Year. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to explain and take photos of the steps you take to achieve things. I've noticed recently especially on some of the Facebook modelling groups loads of people posting what they've done and how good it looks but if anyone asks "how did you do that?" it all goes quiet. Although they are very quick to like someones "awesome" comment!!!!!! I'm never going to be a great modeller but I do like to learn and try and improve, your threads helps me towards achieving my goals. So a lot of credit to you, thanks I've got some tanks to do........lol
  16. Well said Phil, I couldn't careless about the colour, as long as they are being looked after and making that fine noise I'm happy........some may say easily pleased!!!!!!!! In honesty I think it's a master stroke by all involved, it's a smaller scale by far but I have a 1957 VW camper and I know just how important a good paint job is and how much work is involved to keep on top of it. For me it's a thank you GBRf
  17. Happy New Year Mike, As you mentioned your dogbox, do you have any problems with it shorting across frogs..............although as I type this I'm guessing your electrofrog anyway? So probably and irrelevant question? It's just mine shorts all the time especially on my medium and curved points, almost like the tyre width is too wide!!!!!!
  18. Thanks Phil I had wondered about the first one of your links but not seen the second although I think you could be right about the price. I've recently had some stuff from Scale Model Scenery which I thought was really good quality so yep that could be the way to go
  19. So, Happy New Year to you all. I really have no idea where last year went and having just gone back I think I only put up a couple of posts. For some reason I felt like Teignquay wasn't going anywhere last year, this I feel stems from my lack of self confidence although a class 50 gala at the SVR and chasing my final 91's for haulage on the big railway probably got in the way somewhat. But some things were achieved......... My fiancee has been going on at me for ages with regards to the pub garden so I thought I'd better make a start Then it was time for some Shades of Grey.................................... Then some earth and green scatter leaving the outline of a flower bed And then some grass So the next bit here I think is flowers for the borders however I would like to put in right above the wall a small chain link fence, you know the type I mean, white posts about 1 and a half foot high with the chain with the knobbly diamonds in it about every 6 inches, does anyone one have any suggestions as to sourcing such a thing? Elsewhere the JNA's did eventually get loaded Leaving the WAG in the background which I'll cover in another post. Thanks for popping by
  20. Apologies, I saw the first post and didn't really look at the title of the thread. Gaugemaster Prodigy Express 2 Hi David, I did it on the programming track but alas no change. Cheers guys for replying though Edit: Stand down all is sorted. I went through clearing all the consist numbers again and set CV19 to 0 but still no luck. So I don't know why but I deleted all of the loco's stored in the handstand when I deleted the 08 the consist disappeared from the display and replaced by loco...............and guess what it moved. Thank God for that, it was doing my head in, normal service has been resumed
  21. Hi guys, I'm reviving this thread as I seem to have done the same thing........however...... I have never used consists and have no idea how I have manged to get a loco into one so I realise that doesn't help. However I now have an 08 in a consist :-( I have tried to clear every consist between 1 and 127 although with the boredom I guess I may have missed one or two numbers. The Bachmann 08 has a zimo 648R in it I think with a Paul Chetter sound project (which is awesome). Now I have also set CV19 to 0 but still my handset tells me it is in a consist. I never liked to idea of consists I think for this reason of having to remember numbers, somehow without even trying I have screwed myself up and I am pulling my hair out. Any suggestions gratefully accepted
