Annual Posting Veg Ex 2018 Details
Iron Horse replied to Co-tr-Paul's topic in The Railways of Cornwall
I was gutted, only required 603 for haulage, couldn't go the weekend it worked properly -
I got the custom made ones from Sankey Scenics, which I actually used for the first time last weekend. Not the best modelling skills but you get the idea..........
-
Yeah come on Marcus..............although I understand you have gone to legendary status after your departure from Oxford on the 50's................just wish I had been there
-
You haven't seen how it looks now though bud...........

So as you have all probably guessed not too much has happened here for a good while, the summer has been too nice and the evenings have been just perfect for an beer, sat in the garden watching the sun go down..........I've done a couple of trips to try and get my last few 91's for haulage....not got there yet but have gained 3 DB 90's whilst doing it But going back to the layout, there is some progress. Mainly around the small countryside section I started right at the beginning of the year. So firstly I added some structure Then got some plastercloth out And I still have plenty of B&Q South Devon Earth emulsion Tried out some ideas to include a camping field And got a base covering done Then a hedge was added with a basic static grass for the camping field Then I added a road with some roadworks And some wilder grass around the edge of the camping field A general overview with the layout edging extension all painted black Drains added and a rough roadworks layout.....going to need traffic lights!!!!! Static grass added, different colours and lengths for the field of sheep and the embankment, once the fence is in I can differentiate with more detail Wire fence in position So quite a bit done but loads more to add, thanks for taking a look and I'll try not to leave it too long before I post again

Freightliner Rebranding
Iron Horse replied to Scottish-Exile's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
Loads of re-branding around Crewe today as well -
Just thought I'd give this lovely little model shop a bump, if any of you are coming over to the DRS open day at Crewe this weekend this shop is only a 20 minute drive from the depot. Richard's shop is well stocked and the service is always friendly and helpful. I personally have no affiliation but am always a satisfied customer

For it's price, I think it sounds pretty good, thanks for sharing It's given me some ideas

Hi Simon This is a cracking build going on here and I do feel your pain with not being in any club to be able to bounce ideas around. My main discussions end up on Whatsapp with a mate of mine who has been modelling for years, he's near Doncaster and I'm near Crewe.....lol. Anyway apologies if this has already been asked but I haven't found it on a couple of read throughs but where did you get the resin harbour walls from please? Many thanks in advance
-
I see it's gone back to no lay over at Plymouth either, like the first year. Regardless it's an expensive day from Crewe so might have to tailor it somewhat..........
-
Awesome news for the SO class 57 turn then........how many Crewe - Par day returns this year then

I'm still here but I really have no idea where time goes these days So I've been doing a mix of things recently although it doesn't feel like I have done much at all. Thank you Mick for your advice with the 08 I recently acquired, pics will come later when I actually start the thing!!!!!! I'll do an update later as well with regards to the layout but I have had fun weathering a small rake of Falcons...... Thanks for popping by........

I didn't do loads of All-liners but every time I did I never got a vac on the down midnight, OK on the up just never any luck on the down. It's a cracking layout, keep the pics coming please
