  1. The Mk4 coaches just need a proper valance and NEM coupling. If the valance can be done just like the Pendolino coaches and with NEM pockets inside it will be more than enough. And some better glazing is also needed. The Class 91 and DVT can be re-tooled fully. Jeff.
  2. Dave, you should include an option for an N gauge version also. I did that for the Class 92.....
  3. Hey, The problem with any type of poll (which both Dave and I will face) is that it still doesn't judge the full demand for a product. There is no way to determine exactly how much the market needs. I never liked the annual poll because only a certain number of people can actually participate in it. If their are more senior members about that new comers then you'll tend to see more steam locos get more votes and stuff like that. The poll doesn't reach far and wide either. I've personally seen people of other forums for British models who were unaware of the poll on RMweb. We need to reach out to the younger audience who see these modern day locos on a frequent basis. Whenever a manufacturer tells me there is no demand for AC electrics I never believe it. I refuse to believe that electric locos that do play a big role on Britain's railways don't have a certain fanfare behind them. If the HST is iconic, so is the IC225. It's just that no manufacturer has ever done a proper AC electric (excluding Bachmann's Class 85, Hornby's Class 71 and Heljan botched up a nice loco). I'm sure if good quality OHE masts and easy-to-hang (ETH) wires are introduced with some excellent models then people will buy them. If people on the continent have all the accessories and locos they need I don't see why we cannot. No one has made an effort to introduce a highly detailed AC loco and easy to assemble OHE. Dapol does just one type. A more common variety is needed. To further add to my post, companies like Hornby have a customer base in the US, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand (I'm sure other companies and equally big customer base). There will be hundreds of collectors and thousands of people who buy a loco if it's good. Not everyone follow an era specific layout or anything on that line. The loco needs to be good and have accessories (if needed) to sell. Bottom line is that AC locos will sell, (if all modern dieseIs sell why not a modern electric?) am sure Bachmann will get a better response from the upcoming Class 90 than their Class 85. If Hornby do a Class 91 I am sure that the biggest sellers like the Inter-City and GNER variants will sell. Similarly in my case the Class 92 will surely sell especially the RFD and EPS liveries. Cheers! Jeff.
  4. I didn't buy that loco because of it's lack of detail.
  5. More than anything else, I wish Hornby re-tool their Class 91 and re-release this special livery once again..... Cheers! J.
  6. Hi, They will, all modern day models have a die-cast chassis with a centrally mounted motor and twin fly-wheels.... The Class 91 qualifies as a loco and hence will be made like one. Cheers! J.
  7. I think if this does actually happen (which I am hoping it does with all my fingers and toes crossed ) then it's released as such:- - Class 91 + DVT - Coaches in a pack of 2 - Coaches sold individually Jeff.
  8. Anyone interested in seeing Hornby re-tool their Class 92? Or want to see Hornby-Arnold make one? Please do check out the poll in the topic....Spread the word.http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/96681-who-wants-Hornby-to-re-tool-the-class-92/

  9. Do people intentionally act stupid? Or are they trying too hard to be funny....

  10. I think you mean just the pantograph..... cab interrior is a tad different if my memory serves me well. The bogies are far from alike. All motors used are the same.
  11. Can ask Andy to merge this thread or close it.
  12. I was never impressed with Heljan's efforts on the Class 86 at all..... more errors than anything else.
  13. I am sure Hornby's new management surely will think about that...We've seen their new management do alot of things that are non-traditional It's worth a try.
  14. Hi Dave, Thank you so much for taking up this initiative. I personally support you fully with this. And I will help you further if you need. I personally feel like starting a topic similar to this for Hornby to do a Class 92....
  15. Voting done..... I am in! I want Hornby to do an AC electric Probably because Hornby needs to learn to produce a quality AC electric too...atleast one!
  16. Why hoping for something when "Design-Clever" has been publicly stated to be scrapped by Hornby? And moreover why even have such a negative doubt when you see models like the K1, J15 and Class 700 look absolutely stunning and all of which are from the post "Design-Clever" era? Jeff.
  17. Disagree with that... The Adams Radial is part of the 2015 range. It even features in the 2015 catalogue. Hornby said it will be avaiable latest in early 2016. The Class 71 and MN are the only 2 locos that are early announcements made.
  18. Thanks for the correction But if Sanda Kan went bust Hornby would have suffered less/same as they still would have searched for alternate factories as they already did recently.... And if that happened earlier, they would have found newer factories earlier too right?
  19. You might being getting too caught up with things here.... Can surely tone down on that harshness. If Hornby are already in this advanced stage of CAD they have every right to announce it. They are after all competitors. If you worried about the way Hornby act then it really bothers me that Hornby started facing supply issues with Kader/Sanda Kan after Bachmann bought Kader/Sanda Kan.
  20. Merchant Navy coming in 2016...! http://www.Hornby.com/news/merchant-navy-class-coming-in-2016/
