  1. This photo came to me labelled as Cambrian. It's photographed on Cambrian track, certainly, but it is not a Cambrian vehicle. Over to you GW experts. It's number appearas to be x131x the last maybe a 3, 6 or an 8. Might it be Dia S18 No. 1313? If so, this is part of the the Tanat valley set of the late 40s, along with E40 No. 7248 on the right.
  2. The old ones from the 90s look a bit suspect, but the modern ones since 2000 all look OK to me at a quick glance. Sams trains does a comparison...usual trigger warnings apply!
  3. Translation is incorrect it actually says "An example plan of a model railway next to...."
  4. Poor effort on the wishlisting folks, only 5 pages and the announcement is in 13.5 hours. I'm going to suggest a new livery Quarry Hunslet in 009, and go for something small and 0-6-0 in 00, like a 2F, J10, Cauliflower Goods or the like as new tooling.
  5. Ooooh one of my favourite locos and a regular in Port Dinorwic, might have to make a sneaky purchase.
  6. This is a setting that can be turned off by the seller in their preferences, it is enabled by default.
  7. There is no error here, this is exactly how it's meant to be. If you want two touching bodies to become one, then you have to use a combine operation, otherwise you'd never be able to create moving assemblies of parts. However, it's also a none issue - it will print as one solid lump even if theoretically they are separate bodies as long as there really is no gap between them.
  8. Sounds like something that may have happened in the Moelwyn tunnel
  9. Fire irons seem to have fallen off or got left behind an awful lot. We've got a good dozen assorted ones here all collected from Morfa Mawddach. The most recent was unearthed by NRW digging the drainage ditch a few hundred yards towards Dolgellau.
  10. Done that at work listening to the beeps when in Dad's Civic, towbar bounced straight off the stone office wall. Turned them off on my car.
  11. That does look incredibly good. I wonder when the green ones will get here?
  12. A quick google for M1.4 Tap gives a lot of suppliers including the usual suspects Amazon and eBay.
  13. Shame - They really knew their stuff, The only place I would ever trust to do proper alignment on my 'good' cars. Can't find pics of my MX5 there but here's my FTO being aligned.
  14. I don't know what their current sitiation is, there was talk of closure due to illness, but if you need MX5 specialists then Blink Motorsport in Wonsford are the people to talk to.
  15. There were 2 different styles of headboard, presumably one for each half. I've only ever seen train reporting numbers on stuff other than the CCE too. No sooner than I typed that than I came across an Ifor Higgon photo of double headed Dukes haulic the CCE with just reporting number 250.
  16. My dream car - albeit in white - the Toyota Celica GT-4 ST165
  17. You will also need to be very patient. Hornby level patience. Customer car no1 was due to be handed over next week, 2 years late, but that's not happening now either. Will be on display at Salon Prive, Blenheim Palace next week though alongside the demo mk1 everyone has seen before and the Mk1 Evo, which has a very long way to go before it can hit the road. If enough trailers can be found, Customer car no.3 will be there too, which is a rather nice Mk1 track car bound for California. Higgins shells are Chinese copies, and rather poor ones at that. MST Cars demo mk2 was made from one of these. No two are exactly alike. OK for motorsport (which to be fair was what they were meant for) but not for the road.
  18. Excellent choice of portotype, this is going to be very popular indeed!
  19. I am very slowly building just this. Looking at a footprint of about 30x12ft give or take a bit, we're levelling off a sloped area by building a sleeper and rail retaining wall and back filling with stone cut from the (slate) bedrock behind. Once we're backfilled up to the right level, I'll know how much space I have and can draw up the final plans. I'll be underfloor heating piped in an insulated concrete slab base and insulated timber walls and plastic slate gable roof. The intention is it will look very much like a small light railway station whem completed.
  20. These are now hitting the shops. I'm not au fait with the SR and LMS variants, can anyone shed some light on any pitfalls of using them in a c1935 time period? Shouldn't the SR van be brown?
  21. No desire to join a club and add anther £40 onto cost of loco that I don't need. If it was mainstream range then I would be happy to pick it up a few years down the line when funds may allow but I don't see that happening now. Oh well, I'll keep an eye on ebay just in case.
  22. Gutted that this is collectors club only, I had been secretly hoping for this condition coming out as it's how I remember her as a child.
  23. Nope, I'm 37. I only know Hinton Manor from the 1991 runs on the Cambrian Coast and Foxcote and Dinmore on the Llangollen in recent years. I'm wanting Foxcote in Late BR and Hnton in early BR liveried happy to wait til they come out as such (would love to see a 90s Hinton wit hthe bigger tender). There's no way I'm going to attempt a butchery of an Accurascale loco to represent either in those conditions, the models are too good.
