  1. All this incessant moaning is a bore. Some on here act as if accura are alone in having delays or as if they deliberately delay models to annoy us. Personally after theyve read the past 2 pages of petulent twaddle i wouldnt blame them if they did! Now can we please get back to name calling, i was enjoying that bit, Big Nose!
  2. Rail minister proclaims record investment in northern powerhouse rail as first carriage unvealed today.........
  3. The problem with modelling pre tops is the vast amount of rolling stock needed, after all 1829-1974 is a long period to model.
  4. Not to mention youre busy working on the class 40 first, right?
  5. Well its already wednesday and no ones said it yet so here goes..... Class 40 anyone? D'Oh! Its Tuesday! I'll have to do this again tomorrow!
  6. Agree with everything you said...... e xcept that rail blue loco is an 85 not 86.
  7. Few trains would look better than a string of blue grey accura mark one's pulled by.... guess what? An accura class 40!
  8. Prototype locos yes and the apte (though the second batch has hung around unlike the limited edition first batch) but a prototype emu with limited service life and limited geography? I doubt it would sell in vast numbers. The 313 to 508 family thouh, surely a winner.
  9. Ive given this a lot of carefull considered thought and on reflection I'd like to see accura produce new models of every loco produced after 1960, with the exception of the deltic, 37,31, 50 66, 89and 92. Everything else is a must do. Especially a 40! Before xmas please.
  10. Yawn. And I had my credit card out at the ready to order three class 40's. Accurascale, when will you stop tormenting me with your lack of whistlers? Have you no compassion?
  11. Forgive my poor memory, but has anyone suggested an english electric type 4 1co-co1? Later known as the class 40 or "whistler".
  12. After a house move that has left me without a dedicated railway room, i've decided to build a depot layout, so i can at least shuffle a few locos about while i plan to invade the loft when funds allow. But i would appreciate some info from those with more knowledge than me about fueling points. Im unsure of how thr track was laid next to disel refueling equipment. Was it ballasted or was there some kind of drainage for the inevitable spills? And how long would it take to fill up a typical loco? Thanks for any answers!
  13. Just to stray momentarily back to the topic of Mr Marples, at least these days we can all breathe a sigh of relief, safe in the knowledge that our current politicians care exclusively for our collective wellbeing, fight a tireless war against injustice and inequality, are as honest as the day is long and morally beyond reproach.
  14. Whats the ETA of the scottish locos? Still on target for mid April?
  15. And who is "guss"? Always a good idea to spell check before engaging ' pedant mode'. On the subject of working fans, just a couple of observations. Firstly, if they are done right, as opposed to Hornby's rubber band efforts, then they (IMO) have to be a good thing, as the move to high quality sound installations has been compared with some of the poor efforts inflicted on us previously by the likes of Hornby and Bachmann. Innovators like SLW and Accura have come along and set the pace, prompting the bigger companies to also raise their game, or so it seems. Quality working fans will become expected as time goes on and more models come to market. I personally dont take much notice of complaints on here about psycholgical price barriers being broken. Its been trotted out whenever product prices go up, its not that long ago that people on here complained bitterly about the £100 diesel, and foretold that they "would never sell". As for the idea that they are only visible from certain angles, ie from above, thats the angle that most layouts are viewed from I'd say. Perhaps working fans are more relevant than underframe detail, much of which isnt seen until the train derails! Trouble is that a lot of us on here are a mixture of old, miserable, opinionated, complainers (including myself), clinging on to tension lock couplings, H&M duettes and train set curves. For every new feature there's a bunch of naysayers that need 15 years to be convinced. Anyway when are these locos arriving, cant be long now, surely?
  16. As ugly a livery as it is, im strangely tempted. When did it run in this terrible colour scheme?
  17. I think what you get with accura is a 'premium product at average prices,' whereas with Heljan its all the same words but not necessarily in the same order.
  18. If only that were to be correct, i'd be very happy. Though i think theres more chance of me winning tonights euromillions and commissioning one myself.
  19. So this mornings timetable goes something like this 1030-1045 new announcement 1045-1115 "theres nothing in this for me/hurrah ive been waiting for this forever" (delete as applicable) 1116 Recommence random illogical wishlisting until next announcement
  20. See my post immediately before you posted. It says diesel locomotive.
  21. Probably unlikely since it says "diesel locomotive". Although it could be a cunning rouse to throw people off the scent.
