I'm afraid that's the exact opposite in Bachmann's case of LMS locos, a pet gripe of mine. Midland compound, 1P, Lanky 2-4-2 tank, all plain black when they should be red and lined black.

You've missed one. Bachmann have a new n gauge 8f, and what they do in one size tends to follow in the other.

Rather than produce a new black 5/8f for 10% improvement, I'd rather have a completely different new loco and have the 90% old 5/8 as well.

When Russell, Albon and Norris all hit F1 at the same time, the general consensus was Russell was supposedly top talent but for some reason drew short straw as regards team offers.

So you haven't heard of Mr Russell, and because he did well it must be the car that's responsible for Mr Hamilton's success. I bow to your knowledge and clarity of thinking, I now realize I have been wrong all along for the last 13 odd years whilst I have been watching him fluke it to all those records, the jammy lucky sod.

Besides the Caley single that people keep mentioning, which would go with Rails/Bachmann new 812 offering, there is another Caley loco in the Hornby stable that would benefit from a long overdue upgrading and fit with the current penchant for highly detailed small locos; the Caley "pug".

Bachmann kept threatening to update this for years, even put one in a catalogue as a new item, then dropped it, so I presume they think it's not a good proposition. Seeing as I've just finished updating my 8 LMS ones with new chassis', I suppose a new one could appear though.

There was some film of this and quite a lot of the Caley single on last night's channel 5 "Walking Britains Lost Railways".

There are at least 2 sellers advertising them on eBay, I'm not sure if they are in stock or not. PS, one seller spells Bachmann with 1 n.

Thanks for that, I'm not on Faceache, I was only looking on here. Now I've seen the picture I'm still hoping for a Spinner, which I've mentioned before on other threads for a few different reasons, or the Caledonian single in conjunction with Rails to go with their CR 812, a possible bone of contention with Hornby which could lead to repercussions - oh,hang on a minute! (I like a good conspiracy theory).
