    I do not model BR period, but years ago a well known large model railway dealer who was just starting out at the time told me he used to lightly rub Johnsons Baby Oil over his 2nd hand locos to make them look like shiny new, could someone with a "flat" green one have a go and report back if it makes any difference. I don't think it could hurt, just tryin' to help.

    Just check the valve gear first. One of my Patriots did that after I'd been messing with it. Turned out I'd squeezed the valve gear on one side and locked it.

    Last week mine was "sell for 5% fees". The week before was "50% off fees". If only I could work out which was best to go for.

    I did it the other way round. I used the numbers I wanted, then divided the rest of the sheet into about 6 different lots of different styles etc (about 2 years ago, can't remember exact details) and sold them on eBay. I got my numbers for free and made about £5 profit after costs. I bought direct from HMRS, Google away for them.

    I can't remember what sizes are what, but I wanted large straw coloured numbers for a Garrett which weren't available on the OO gauge sheet, but I worked out one of the sizes on the O gauge sheet was right (enough for me). They are the same sheets only bigger, so work out what the O gauge sizes would represent in OO.

    The Heljan turntables are notoriously problematic and unfixable, if you type Heljan turntables into the search box you should see previous discussions on this subject.

    Click on the "spanner" emblem under the speedo display, then "edit loco", then properties, then you can sideways scroll 8 screens up to F28, switching them on or off and latching or permanent, and testing them to see if anything's there.

    I DCC'd a Hornby 2P (or 4f, can't remember which) with traction tyres, and spent ages poking and prodding as it worked when it felt like it, (I have previously done other similar locos with no probs), and when I removed the tyres it worked fine. I couldn't figure out why, ( sometimes fine on rolling road, not on track, and vice versa), but just accepted it. If its easy to get the tyres off give it a try.

    My un-used one has those fitted, but there is a small pack with just screw couplings in it.
