  1. Glad to see the message is sinking in, at least with the proletariat if not the masters. Feel free to badger Bachmann at every opportunity, even if you just say "For God's sake give 'em one just to shut the moaning oiks up"
  2. So that's where your name comes from, merci Buc.
  3. 5th was.... A 3rd piggin' LNER one. Sod ' em with knobs and bells on.
  4. Channel 4 coverage extended for 2020 https://www.planetf1.com/news/channel-4-extended-f1-highlights/
  5. 1st loco they did was a Southern one. 2nd was a GWR one. 3rd was an LNER one. 4th was............... Another LNER one. So sod 'em. An LMS fan.
  6. I've been banging on this particular drum for years, usually in Mr Lovett's ear at York show, with a generally non committal response. However, at last year's Derby exhibition I had a bash at his younger replacements, and got the response "I suppose it is about time we did one"; so I am now as optimistic as I have ever been that it might actually come to fruition.
  7. Have a heart. Mr P does his best typing with 1 finger whilst swinging a big mug of tea in his other hand.
  8. I've noticed Heljan have managed to blacken the hand rails on these new ones, which saves me a job, but are still persisting with shiny running gear, which the big two manufacturers stopped doing donkey's yonks ago.
  9. R3553 is original single chimney, the Ltd Ed one is 1948 double chimney version.
  10. They also deposit crap on the tracks which quickly affects DCC running.
  11. You can also use the volume control on your tablet/phone for finer step control, and if you're poverty struck like me then there's no choice about it.
  12. Disappointed Denton Brook was missing, main thing I wanted to see.
  13. Can you post the postcode for the car park please, as you did last year?
  14. A couple of years ago a rider (can't remember who) at the Australian MotoGP (track on top of a cliff) met a seagull lifting off from the track and had the presence of mind to headbutt it at speed (killed it), if he had let the bird hit him it could have broken his neck. Amazing to watch.
  15. The only difference between the Dapol and Hornby ones are black wheels not shiny ones, if I remember correctly. I'll try and send you a picture of the body tomorrow.
  16. What's the difference between Dapol and Hornby pugs, 'cos I might have a Hornby one? Do you mean Airfix kit type, not Dapol/Hornby motorised ones?
  17. Piccy's of aforementioned Fleischmann 'n'-gauge turntable undergoing '00' treatment, the deck measures 185mm (46'3"), close enough for 46' Midland tables for me, (didn't check my LMS Sheds books before previous posting).
  18. The small Fleischman one that a previous poster mentioned do occasionally come up on eBay, but it uses the n- gauge base which is a lot easier to come by. I used one and altered the deck top for oo gauge, (Playcraft ramp/bridge section is handy for this) and if I remember correctly it scales out at 45 foot, which was a size the Midland Railway used in their roundhouses (my future layout, if I ever get my finger out), and is just right for 0-6-0's.
  19. Heljan turntables do have a reputation for the control units conking, but you don't have to do away with it if you can cope without the self parking facility. If you use DC wire a transformer to it and park it by eye (like the real thing), or if you use DCC wire a decoder into it. Either way you get to control the speed down to a crawl to help with the lining up. On DCC you could alter the wiring as well if you wish to do away with the polarity changeover and put a polarity reverser in it to stop sound locos temporarily cutting out. I did with both my Heljan turntables.
  20. I heard someone say this was Max's first pole in 93 starts, which means he's done 4 and a half seasons. I didn't think it was that long. Time flies when you're knocking on.
  21. That's a better piccy. I take back all I have been saying about you.
  22. Would you care too explain yourself sir, regarding the photo thingy under your name? As one of those "westerners" I can hardly catch my breath! Shame on you.
