  3. I returned to work this morning, bursting with enthusiasm, only to be reminded that I had Retired in 2014.  Ah well, at least I tried.

Perhaps the enthusiasm was because you hadn't been there since 2014!

  4. With apologies to Johnny Nash:

I can see clearly now the Virus is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
    Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
    Bright (bright) sunshiny day.

  7. An American gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and paperwork, and was burnt out.
Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic.
He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learnt all he could.
When the time of the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill.
When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%.
Fearing an error, he called the Instructor, saying, “I don’t want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade?”
“The instructor said, “During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark.”
After a pause, the instructor added,
“I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the exhaust pipe, which I’ve never seen done in my entire career”.

It sounds absolutely amazing...never heard it before...and it went through Seaton Junction in 1966...but konked out halfway up Honiton Incline.

Badge awarding depends on the quantity of cereal boxes and sticky backed plastic used to build it! But there is definitely a goodly quantity of blue poster paint on it....

Actually I do remember when Tornado did a bit of public service some winters back, helping stranded Commuters in Kent when it snowed.  More seriously, it does show a fragility when all sets on the same route are the same design at the same time instead of long term introduction.

  17. Danum Gallery/Library/ Museum in Donny is a great place to visit (check opening times). Perhaps before or after the Donny Show...or anytime really if you are nearby. Google it as I CBA to do a link as it's Sunday.

I'm obviously wrong! I give up. (Now someone on here will tell me the USA is actually a Pannier!)
