  1. Perhaps it was just over subscribed but the system still allowed orders to be placed. Still, got three on order direct from Accurascale so still hopeful of getting those yet! The 7802 money can sit in the bank in the hope that there's another release from them with the larger tender so I can do 7803.
  2. I've replied asking whether there is any chance of some being added to any future runs of manors with those who had an order cancelled being offered a first refusal. It sounds like it affects more that I thought it may if some who ordered one immediately haven't got one. Such as shame.
  3. Treasure this model. I have just been informed that there is a problem with the production run and my order has been cancelled. It doesn't say how many will not be delivered but this is very disappointing having paid the deposit very quickly after they were announced (a couple of days) and paid the full balance within half an hour of the request for it. Hornby Magazine have said that they will provide a full refund as well as a gesture of good will voucher.
  4. Thanks Ralf, that was some day to be out wasn't it. What were we thinking!?! It was a nod to Tanygrisau I was after having neither the inclination or ability to recreate an actual place! I see you're having a dabble with the Canal wharf box file, I tried that and just could not get on with it for some reason. You're idea of getting some laser cut wood to the templates is a belter! I've a huge collection of JSM kits awaiting the building of a proper wharf layout too. There is something about modelling industry isn't there.
  5. A few more washes over the rocks and the first elements of landscaping going on now, quick photo in some nice light this afternoon.
  6. It's correct that 5820 carried BR black in preservation but the 2nd image of 90801 I believe is a fictitious photo with the engines black USA livery edited to be BR late crest. As far as I know only the KWVR one has carried a BR livery.
  7. Some colour washes were put on the rock faces last week (the shiny areas will have vegetation on them) and having returned from 4 days at the Edinburgh Festival these have dried and a quick photo in the sun. Some more blending in is needed but it's thankfully taken the shine of the grey out and given it a bit more variation.
  8. It was whilst sitting on top of one of the tunnels in the Aberglaslyn Pass at the WHR100 event a few weeks ago that I decided it would be nice to have something inspired by the pass and the section of the FR that runs above the houses at Tanygrisiau on which to run my fairly, england and mainline hunslet fleet. So the genesis of 'Tanyglaslyn' was born and the last few weekends have seen trial of different arrangements before settling on a basic plan culminating the in the first applications of grey to the landscape today. So thought I'd share some of the progress so far.
  9. Thought I'd join the fun, 7812 Erlestoke Manor leads 7822 Foxcote Manor out of the mist at Garth-y-Dwr on the Llangollen Railway. As it stands I'm just awaiting delivery of 4 with hopes that they'll produce another 2 particular ones!
  10. Given that the Manor's are arriving I wonder if it could be one of them as there isn't an exclusive manor announced but there is with the J69. I wonder if one with the Danny's Bull Aberystwyth embellishments, perhaps 7828 as this seems to feature in photos like that one shed and would be another preserved one, alternatively could be 7827 'Lydham Manor' in the ornate fully lined preservation era 'Great Western' livery it wore for a while.
  11. A smoke haze sits over Heathfield MPD with a small selection of BR Midland steam power present.
  12. Hopefully I'll be forgiven for yet another view of Avalon shed taken yesterday evening.
  13. 'Holy War' now has a shed mate at Avalon in the form of the slightly less work worn 'Elidir' (I know there wasn't one originally but the preserved one carrying the name was in steam when I did my research trip hence the name). Couldn't resist the lighting that was on offer briefly tonight so with Avalon balanced on top of the car, 'Elidir' beneath the oncoming rain storm.
  14. That one really did have me fooled at first! Lovely modelling!
  15. Quarry Hunslet 'Holy War' shunts in the evening light on Coronation Gallery, so named as it was a build over the coronation weekend along with some of the Nigel Brooks slab wagons.
  16. Two more from Bank House Colliery featuring a Rapid 18inch and Planet Industrial Victory, the latter in what was some fantastic last thing sunlight.
  17. Peckett No. 74 and an Austerity work the sunday shunt at Bank House Colliery.
  18. Some more views of Holy War working round Avalon Shed, first seen coming off shed and the then two view of the engine taking a train out behind the shed, once early afternoon and then later in the more golden light of the early evening sun.
  19. Bought the mag as this was in it, very nice modelling haven't bumped into you to say it personally yet!
  20. Crossing West Street with a night time goods (there is a box van behind the engine).
  21. Some shots of Quarry Hunslet 'Holy War' shunting at Avalon shed with the slate workers grabbing a lift in one.
  22. I think we could be in for a steam loco for two reason, 1 they only have one in the range at the moment and 2 that 1 is about to be released. But I don't think that it'll be a GWR Castle, the Hornby one is definitely one of their better toolings and there's other things more deserving/have older tooling. I do think the announcement at Model Rail Scotland could likely mean it'll be a prototype associated with Scotland. So a WD 2-10-0 (as a hauler for their rolling stock) might be a good bet or something like the LNER K4, D40, D34. If I had to have a bet on it I'd say the 2-10-0 as it's a match for the rolling stock they produce.
  23. I've always wanted a model of A3 60052 'Prince Palatine' as I think the deflectors and GN tender are the best look for an A3. A Hornby Brown Jack as the donor from eBay and I finally got one. So have had a play with photoshop as well. No. 60052 'Prince Palatine' on shed with a dormant 'Blue Peter' just visible beyond.
