  1. Just a quick post to advise that the Hornby R3075 N15 in SR Maunsell Olive Green 785 Sir Mador de la Port as part of their Royal Mail Limited Edited series is now in the shops.
  2. Hi Stu, either with or without the www works however I had missed the second m in the link which I have now corrected.
  3. No not a full size one, obviously…. A while ago now I built my own 4mm model of Bulleid’s unconventional ‘Leader’, I utilised a kit of parts from Chris Meachen at Golden Arrow Productions.....snip....I shall be assisting Mike Wild, editor of Hornby Magazine, with exhibiting his Bay Street Shed MkII layout at this weekends Midland Railex exhibition (13th/ 14th August) . My Bulleid Leader model will make a guest appearance sneaking on to shed during the weekend.....snip This is an extract of the latest entry on my modelling blog click here to read the full entry My full model railway and meanderings blog can be read at www.grahammuz.com
  4. When exhibiting Fisherton Sarum at various exhibitions the arrival of a video camera being pointed at the layout usually precedes either a derailment or more likely an operator error, also aligning the turn table (currently still done by eye, although an automatic alignment method is on the drawing board) suddenly becomes tricky due to twitchy fingers on the control switch. I am sure it is the red light of doom…if there isn’t already a law about it then there should be, maybe Farnsworth’s law (Google if you haven’t heard of him, I don’t always intend to always explain how my mind works….) However, despite the above, a small number of quite nice videos have made their way onto YouTube, below are some that I recommend...... This is an extract of the latest entry on my modelling blog click here to read the full entry and see the videos of Fisherton Sarum in action. My full model railway and meanderings blog can be read at www.grahammuz.com
  5. My blog up and running at www.grahammuz.com

  6. The intention was for the Hattons anniouncement to be made this coming Wednesday, with details also appearing in the September issue of Hornby Magazine which also should arrive with Subscribers on Wednesday / Thursday next week. There will be standard and revolving bunker types in a variety of liveries and weathered options.
  7. Dave, your gallery for Readstoke is already in the list. I have also updated the OP to include a link to BlackRat's Carrick Road.
  8. OP updated to include a link St. Mary Hoo in P4 by oldlugger
  9. Cheeky.......yeah lack of facia painting was due to someone forgetting the black paint! We do have a lighting rig for the layout already as it shares the same one from Mike's Berrybridge layout (which is where the fiddle yards also come from) we just didnt set them up on the day.
  10. OP updated to include pete_mcfarland's 2011 natty challenge entry thread on building a SER stationand also his workbench blogs including building etched SECR coaching stock.
  11. Just to catch up, Ashland was indeed built and finished over the course of the weekend show and we had a full train service running for the last hour of the show. Just to prove it he I am behind the controls with the second train of the day. A full feature on how we did it will be in the next issue of the Hornby Magazine out next week (it went to press yesterday!)
  12. The Southern liveried version of the Kernow Models Beattie Well Tank has now been released for production see here for more details.
  13. In order to keep the Product Review / Discussion links thread simply to links to discussion on Southern / BR(S) products elsewhere on this forum I have created this topic to either post relevent news items or heads up links to other news items elsewhere either on or off the forum. I hope that makes sense feel free to add any news items or links relevent to the Southern, BR(S) or constituents. I have arranged for Eric's recent news post to be moved into this thread (but due its original posting date it now resides above this post, I hope that's not too confusing!)
  14. Sky have apparantly advised that there will be no ad breaks during either the race itself or the qualifying sessions, I would still prefer the BBC coverage to be all races though especially as I do not have or intent to get Sky F1 is not on the "Crown Jewel" list at all either Cat A, that must be shown live on free to air; or Cat B where highlights must be shown on free to air
  15. Pet sitting always goes wrong for me as I keep falling off the dog.... ...where's my coat?
  16. OP updated to add link to Matt's model of Horsted Keynes - Bluebell Railway as it is preserved today.
  17. I have updated the OP to include a couple of Burgundy's Terrier project threads.
  18. Hi Mike Good to see you on here, I hope you are well? Like you I also remember meeting up with you at Swanage for their gala, on a very hot September weekend. many thanks for the links to your own modelling work.
  19. Hi Guys I have updated the OP to include a link to the to discussion thread on the latest versions of the Bachmann Bulleid coaches. As I stated in the OP my intention for this thread was to provide A list of reference links to product reviews / discussions relevent to Southern / BR(s) elsewhere on the Forum , with the emphasis on discussion elsewhere on the forum, rather than try and link to every possible supplier of Southern / BR(s) related products. I am happy for other members to post such links or perhaps we should have a separate thread for such, what do you think?

  23. Raphael Yes the Groups are a new feature of the forum and helps to collate relevant content together. The Southern Railway Group can be found here David Phil-b259 above is correct that the plates were removed from locos when repainted into the Bulleid style as he prefered painted numbers on cabsides rather then on the tanks or tenders.
  24. Has today reached the meaning of life and everything or if you prefer the number of times the words Lea & Perrins appears on a bottle of Worcester sauce!
