  1. slightly annoying that a £64.99 order qualifies for free post but as soon as i apply my reward points it knocks £21.15 off then adds on postage of £3.95
  2. No replies, but the decoder arrived so ill answer myself Tested in a class 20 as it was the easiest to swap the decoder out of. Out of the box there was no accelleration or decelleration set, unlike the with the Bachmann/zimo. Set both CV3 and 4 to 5 No brake button as the Bachmann/zimo has Runs ok but dosent seem as smooth as the Bachmann/zimo, but then again its half the price.
  3. Ordered one of these last night as they are roughly half the price of the Bachmann / zimo decoders ive been using. https://railsofsheffield.com/products/Dapol-imperium6-imperium-6-plux22-8-function-decoder Has anyone used one of these? Are they any good? Was thinking of using it in a new Bachmann 47 or 37.
  4. Ive managed to mangel the pickups on mine whilst refitting the body screws on one bogie. Can anyone tell me how to remove the base keeper plate so i can get to the pickups? Ive tested each wheel and the pickups that arent working are working and which arent. X works - 0 dosent. Runs but obviously stalls on every point. X - X X - X X - 0 0 - 0 So on one side theres only one working out the 4. Any ideas beefore i take to my local shop to try and fix
  5. SK said in one of the TT Talk videos that the sound cant be synched to the wheel rotations in the early versions. However in the TV programme we saw them trying to get the sound and wheels in sync on an SR pacific so who knows
  6. It was me that said they were supplied blank - which im pretty sure ive heard on either the launch video or one of the TT Talk videos. My retailler is also thinking they come blank. Ive not imagined it. Ive deffo heard it,
  7. He mustve had it from Hornby as they are supplied blank. Without the app he couldnt have put the soundfile on it so Hornby mustve put it on for him. Also i didnt realise the A4 had a prefitted speaker.
  8. Nice choice - and very nice price! Now if you could take the 14XX off thier hands as well that would be fab :)
  9. Price is TBC, but dosent stop rails asking £30 deposit. Pity theres no indication of price, even if its a rough estimate. Interested in this and the 56 but the lack of price means i wont preorder.
  10. Never seen a Brit at the railway museum. When i last went Evening star had a class 20 one side and Ellerman lines, an SR pacific, the other side. Ellerman lines is the other loco that was in shot. Its also been sectioned so you can see all the bits inside it.
  11. Easterner back in stock along with more mk1 coaches
  12. No idea tbh but sams trains has reviewed both the TTS 4F and the railway children 4F and they are both loco drive as i said. I cant see them retooling them to make them tender drive again, especially given the decoder sockets in the tender. The image in the catologue is a photoshop on an old airfix era model. Also the catologue has been wrong before - it lists the 06 in the set as being DCC ready which it isnt., i think they said the same for the bagnall in the HM6000 set as well. Neither was the J94 a few years back despite the catologue saying it was.
  13. I can assure you they are not tender drive. Ive got 2 recent ones. One with factory fitted TTS and the railway children one. Both are loco drive.
  14. With delivery esitimates of up to 5 weeks so they dont actually have them i dont thinmk
  15. I didnt initially but when i saw that Hornby had had some stuff stolen i emailled customer care yesterday. The listing on ebay isnt there now so either removed or sold.
  16. Hornby have said theyve had stuff stolen from eb route to the warehouse. Possibility its these. Also someone on ebay selling TT sets claiming to be a tier 1 retailler
  17. Yes that what im thinking theyll see ive not had it from them if they check my account.
  18. Quick Q for those that returned there loco for repair. Did Hornby ask for your proof of purchase? Only ask as someones selling a set close to me and knowing some of the issues im wondering if its worth the risk if i need to contact Hornby.
  19. Has anyone recieved the Flying Scotsman loco thats available on the Hornby site?
  20. Ive got a space of 9ft x 38" which is enclosed in an alcove so can only access from the front. In my mind i want to run the following locos - 14XX, Pannier, 08 and a bogie diesel - probably as class 20 as they are probably my favourite diesel. Im struggling to come up with anything decent. The space i have has to include a small fiddle yard. I doubt id get a run around in there as theres not the space and i dont have the skills to build a traverser. Ideally id like a basic passenger service - maybe a 121 / 122 or the Heljan railcar thats on offer at rails and a small goods yard Can anyone inspire me, ideally not using more than 3 points. Id like to use the normal electrofrog points rather than the set track points.
  21. where did you get it from? I ended up getting the RF Grey one from kernow sound fitted for £194. I wouldve got the £99 NSE 121 but its not cheap anymore when the decoders alomst £40
  22. So far ive seen 4 videos 2 running with no issues the other 2 sitting with spinning wheels. One seems stuck on a point but thinks tender wheels may be stiff and the other looked like it was trying to get it up a slight incline
  23. Probably the same as the new 24s theyve been heavily reduced in some places. The NSE 121 as well come to think of it. The 47s ive seen pretty cheap as well lately even the newer release ones such as lady di.
