  1. I changed address too and contacted Accurascale about my older orders and everything was quickly sorted out.
  2. There are quite a few 37 variants I am waiting for including the 37/9s.
  3. This reminds of an episode of Blackadder where the captain of the ship (Tom Baker) said there were 2 schools of thought on having a crew - All the other captain's say you need a crew but he was of the opinion that you did not. The same seems to be the case here for research
  4. I saw the interview, and KR models make the point that locos like the Fell were prototypes and changed all the time. Therefore it would be impossible to capture all the variations, or at least impossible without the costs going through the roof. They are catering to a demand and while they are not raising the bar in terms of accuracy or realism like Accurascale or RevolutioN, they are producing models that may never have been produced. They may have errors, which we used to accept in undersize Lima Deltics etc. but they do also have modern mechanisms. You do not have to buy them. Personally I would have been happy if they made one version of the Fell as accurately as they could and not produced a FrankenFell I think where some people object is when they claim they are highly accurate models, when clearly compromises have had to be made. As I said before, it is the consumer's choice.
  5. You can never make everyone happy. I think there is a difference between less detail (moulded handrails instead of separately fitted metal ones) and less accurate whereby variations made to a piece of rolling stock over its life time are ignored, or in some cases, guesses are made as it is too difficult or time consuming to do research. We then get an impression of the model. A bit like the "generic" coaches. In this case I think the best description of these models is an "interpretation". It is up to each person to decide whether they want to buy or not, and hopefully in the full knowledge of the compromises that have been made and the level of accuracy that has been achieved. For myself, I have decided to pass on this one.
  6. With the 31 now announced, I strongly suspect someone is going to announce a 50 in 2022 and I expect it be from one of the newer manufacturers.
  7. Hi Mark They look excellent. Glad I ordered a few, I wish I could make Glasgow this year, Regards Eamon
  8. Its an older meaning of the word, ie not specifically a gambling institution. It was more of a social or entertainment house. There is another one in Dublin of architectural merit - https://casinomarino.ie/ I never realised he was so young when he died either.
  9. When visiting Dublin you can always go and see his collection: https://www.modelrailwaymuseum.ie/cyril-fry/
  10. Yes, I am not sure what to expect. I will have a good look at 59005. I would have to switch the exhaust side too I think. I have have so many projects to do I may wait if they announce another run. Either way something may require correction depending on what compromises have been made.
  11. That is logical. So we will get some 59s this year. I am hoping for one of 59001-4 in original livery in the next run. I may just get 005 and backdate it.
  12. You missed the smilely
  13. I just got an email from Hattons stating Q1 2023 for delivery of the 59. I have never known a model that got to such an advance stage take so long to get completed. There was a pandemic apparently, but on the other side of the equation DJM were not involved. Other models not even announced when samples of the 59 were shown have made it to market. Even Dapol's own Manor is progressing much more quickly and possibly got the production slot intended for the 59. I wonder why they are rushing the Manor so much
  14. While the D, E and F are all air-con, the D is different. It has a different window arrangement to the E and F. The E and F are the same in this regard to each other but not the D. Hornby made an F using lots of components from their E. You cannot do that for a D. The window arrangement is different. With a bit of modelling you could make an E from an F and vice versa. You would need to start cutting up coach sides to make a D from an E or an F.
  15. The Es and and Fs are very similar alright and it would not take much for Bachmann to do an E. The D is different, the major difference being the position of the toilet windows. The C and D are probably more alike in this regard, albeit with different window frames as the D is air-conditioned. Obviously I am not getting into roof vents and underframe differences. The Bs and Cs were/are definitely the biggest hole in the market but I am sure there are other people like me who would like Ds and Es to a high standard.
  16. I do not see the 2E as having being covered. The Hornby model is below the standard of the other Mk2s you mention. I would like to see a better version of the 2D as well.
  17. You could check the connectivity between the coaches. It might not be the chip. I had a problem with my the red light at one end but it was one of the connections.
  18. How are photos of pre production samples that have been shown to be corrected in a subsequent photograph of a production sample worrying? Surely the earlier photo is irrelevant at this stage as that is not whats being produced.
  19. A rake of these behind an A Class would look great. Very nice and unusual prototype.
  20. That is exactly it. We get a smaller snapshot of what is new to market compared to an annual announcement. Therefore it is not really possible to easily draw too many conclusions about how the market is moving. You need to look at a wider span of data.
  21. That's nothing. I intend to rename my Manor King George V. I suspect some people might have a problem with that.
  22. To be honest, I am not 100% what is meant by a "range". Do Accurascale have many ranges at the moment - 0 and 00 or are there others - accessories range, detailing parts range, wagon range? A range implies a set of complimentary products. We can probably rule out Steam Punk and "Lion Trains on film". If it is another gauge I would guess 009 but the definition of a range is very broad. It could even be a range of Mk2 coaches B, C and D or a LNER range etc.
